Well,
Um,
Yes !

This  carry-on has been brought to a new level by the electric scooter brigade.
Dressed in black, no lights, can be found anywhere on the road.
Conventions like which side of the road one drives/rides on seems to be of no concern to them.
One evening last week I can across one in the middle of a rural road. No lights, no hi-viz. Matt black anorak and slacks....just luck I didnt propel her to the next world. Huh
Body image stuff. Jaysus but its a long long marathon to get to a place of acceptance. I'm better than I was but not as I should be.
Dunnes have re-used their Christmas advert from last year where the children go round the town and turn on every light they can so that Santa will be able to find them.
With the current electricity crisis I think they probably should have went back to the drawing board and just made a new ad this year.

God I'm a divil for having every light in the place on.

I feel your pain @ari101, I hope you feel better soon. I had sinus issues for a year, only cleared up since June, it is hell on earth. To have bronchitis on top must be awful.

Its my busiest week of the year in work, guess who forgot to take their thyroid meds over the weekend? The brain fog is real. My nails are in bits also. I hate thyroid issues.

Whenever you put on the radio and you want to hear some music, it doesn't matter what kind, and every station you check is just people talking.

I'm still learning about all this thyroid fun, haven't got it stabilised yet but at least they've identified it and got me some meds (newly discovered side effect of blasting the cancer to hell it seems) Big Grin

Ali Express for me Tongue the combined shipping can really help with delivery speed Wink

Hopefully the cold I had, that seems to have turned into something really nasty, will begin to clear up and not stay as persistent torture.
It must be the worst one I've had in over a decade, I was always prone to bronchial issues when younger but sinus at the same time is evil, think I can wrangle a codeine cough suppressant for night time? (they are so much less generous with those these days Wink )
I'm thinking I go to the doc looking for meds on the off chance there is something bacterial and not viral underlying this crap.
I got a negative pcr covid test

Oh how I loathe masks. I'm sitting waiting on my fancy pants nails appointment and Jaysus I'm uncomfortable. The eyes are in bits. Might just pull it down.
Came back to the desk at 2pm, working away and the doorbell rang, I was convinced that it was not even 3pm. Turns out it was 4:10!
However, since then, time has just crawled. So so slowly. And it's only Tuesday.

Had to fact check that. Turns out you a right.

Perhaps the order of the days of the week have been changed ?
I love Christmas but I hate the corporate money grubbing side to it. Two examples would be:

The McDonalds ads drilling it into children that if you don't leave out reindeer treats for Santa's reindeer he won't give you any presents. They are just carrot sticks in a bag, you could cut some up yourself at home for much cheaper and no packaging but the children will want the McDonalds ones because they saw it on the ads that you are not 'Christmas ready' unless you have them. The beauty of this for McDonalds is that when the family comes in on Christmas eve to buy the reindeer treats (which is a hassle the parents need like a hole in the head) the children will also want a happy meal while they are there, and sure then the parents might as well get something too.

Another is the Cadburys give chocolate secretly to someone you love ads. They are aimed mostly at children again and it is just a new way to get money off them. The young kids will probably have to ask the parents for the money to buy the chocolate and go to the shop with them so it won't be a secret suprise anyway  Rolleyes
If you want someone to know that you love them you can tell them, or give them a hug for free. But that won't help Cadbury's bottom line Dodgy

Sorry for the big rant but this kind of thing grinds my gears.
@Butty Brennan well said .

Now Leo is saying more restrictions might be needed BUT they'll be in the run up to Christmas.

In other words, pubs, restaurants and all live venues will be closed. We can't be socialising over Christmas now ...

... oh, and remember the vaccines we diligently got? Turns out they're not as effective as promised. Vaccinate our way out of this pandemic my arse!

It would absolutely sicken you at this stage. Kicking the cam further down the road.
It's like a parent saying "if you get good marks in your Christmas test, you can go to the disco."
Then, that's not enough.."If you gey good marks in your mocks, you can go."
Oh wait..."Actually I meant your actual junior cert results."

Now they might have to stop referring to it as a 'vaccine' because technically speaking it is a gene therapy.
Eugh, why do I always end up with so much to do by deadline time?! Damn my lack of time management and motivation

I was reading it online, the companies making them really shouldn't have marketed them as vaccines in the first place: a vaccine contains the germ or virus either dead or in a weakened state. The covid 'vaccines' don't contain the Covid-19 virus at all.

The goal of vaccination is to better prepare our immune system in fighting off infectious disease.
There are loads of different types, not only those that include a piece of the disease.
The Covid vaccines which are mRNA and viral vector still fall under the name 'vaccine'.
Why do you think they are gene therapies? That sounds like they alter our genetic code which absolutely isn't the case.

That was widely discussed before vaccinations started to explain the difference between mRNA and traditional vaccines. It gave rise to conspiracy theories galore!
I'll take any vaccine booster or jabs going
Currently waiting the mandatory 15 minutes after getting my booster. It's absolutely packed here (Swords).
