Hope you are ok mam.

Thanks Boo , am fine , just needed to vent and decided that here would be the safest place to do so pac
I dont follow tennis, nor do I follow ND

From what I've read in the last couple of days he has been a winner at the game for decades and has a pile as a result ( yes Matron, a Pile Big Grin )

Expect that he has signed contracts for appearance, performance & GOK what else. Expect also that these contracts have various penalty clauses & get out clauses.

Perhaps the pantomine that is being played out for public consumption represents various sides of various contracts jockeying for position ?

It would be a mistake to think that ND is in control of his professional life

Might be wrong but I cut the guy some slack on all of this

He's a knob and can't understand why many don't like him.

1. Clever misspelling!

2. I presume you meant to say you can understand.

I'm not about to get into a discussion about the rights and wrongs of this particular episode, or indeed the character of one Novak Djokovic.

Instead: why are they so stuffy in Wimbledon in particular about the dress code of players?

In essence Wimbledon itself is a tennis club and the competition is an invite competition, so players have to adhere to the rules of the club they are attending, and like most clubs, like golf,(even local football clubs - club gear only on match days) they have, dress codes. Wimbledons dress code goes back a long long time and IIRC it's white as they believed at the time that white clothing didn't show sweat as much.

I meant he can't understand!
My body clock is still messed after 10 days back in Ireland. Most nights I'm awake until 2 or 3am.

When I grow up I want to be a number 1 tennis player
I'll be careful here, but......

What is it about some (note: some) tradesmen (including reputable ones - not just "cowboys") where they leave stuff behind them after they finish a job and have been paid, and never come back to collect them? You contact them and they say they will be back to collect when they are in the area, etc.

The stuff could be small items belonging to them or something belonging to you that they had replaced and said they would take away.  Sometimes, the tradesmen in question even offer to look after the stuff without  any initial prompting!

Is it a mindset? At the very least, why promise to do something if you do not intend to do so?

As I said above, it's some, i.e. not all!
I have an extra dust pan and brush and a squeegee after the painter... The brush and dustpan I understand but what on earth was the squeegee for... Big Grin Like doesn't he need his equipment even if it is only cheap basic bits???
We had a hoody and hat after kitchen was done - no idea which of the tradesmen left it behind anymore so I dumped them before Christmas. We also had the dustpan and brush - a brand new set they said was useless!

My rant for today is about myself and not knowing by now to put a small amount of coffee beans in the machine if they are new and not tried before. Dumped the majority of a 250g of a Christmas blend in yesterday and it's awful. So so bad. The way my machine is designed there is no easy way of getting them back out so I'm just making lots and lots of coffee to pour it down the sink Sad
Oh that sucks!!!

Can you get your vacuum cleaner nozzle in?

Not a rant but that^^^ reminded me of this, which gave me a little giggle.

This frequentky is an indication of an inability to organise.

Not the greatest of faults but a red flag.

If you plan on getting them to do more work then make provision for helping them WRT

Oh that would have been genius, and would have worked too as we have this long thing yoke. Unfortunately I just made a lot of coffee. And poured it all down the sink.

This is a great idea - if you have a vacuum cleaner attachment that you don't mind getting near food making equipment Wink

*looks at vacuum cleaner... I know where you've been Confused
Another rant: cyclists that cycle on the road beside decent cycle lanes. I often find that they are the ones with all the cycling gear - the "pros".
Micromanagement, I didn't miss you at all

Oh, I'm so with you on that one. It's either those tossers or food delivery cyclists. As much as I'm borderline militant in my pro-cycling stance, these two groups regularly make my blood boil. It's time for the de-lycraisation of cycling!

But I came here to rant about something else, namely colleagues who don't bother to check your status on Teams or the local time before messaging me with requests. I'm set to "Do not Disturb" for a reason, so don't ping me and act all pissy if I don't reply within five minutes!

Well cyclists live in their own parallel universe.
Saw this one yesterday evening, on a one way street going the opposite direction, he runs into this old man who was looking to the right, where traffic is coming from, and the cyclist comes out of nowhere from his left, and still dared to make a fuss and give out to the old man who was left quite baffled.
I'm getting annoyed here thinking about past encounters with idiots pac Dodgy
Not all cyclists are assholes but those who behave badly or dangerously make it harder for the others.

One guy kicked my car once intentionally, I wasn't in the wrong, he just wanted the road to be wider than it was and took it out on me for getting in lane properly at a junction (I was stationary at a red light long before he arrived; after his assault and squeezed undertake, he turned left at the still red light... probably realised he needed to get the fuck away from me given he could likely hear the expletives coming from inside my vehicle... I'm not saying I would have gone after him, but it is possible the thought crossed my mind... I'm a nice person, until someone does something idiotic while I'm driving pac)
Not much of a rant but

I have desperate period pains!! And I have to drag myself out of bed now and head off for a walk before work.  Sad Sad Sad
I do hope it settles down for you Buile! (hugs)
The problem with cycle lanes is that they aren't swept clear by the motor traffic and instead are the are that teh detritus is deposited I to this makes them slipp and puntchury

Cycle lanes need to be a seperat thing not a painted area of the normal road. Then make them mandatory by all means but till then all real cyclists -lycrabclowns and delivery lads-=will use the road as it's faster and safer.

And when seperate cycle lanes are common they need to literly shoot the fucking Peds that walk in cycle lanes

Tldr don't blame the pedler blame the game
There are these lovely dedicated two way cycle lanes in Dundrum near the shopping centre... one abruptly dead-ends into a lamp post on a bend! Big Grin They were incorporated into the new road design 15+ years ago, but no one has bothered to connect some of them back to other roads or cycle lanes safely. Can't blame cyclists for using the road, though unfortunately many often choose to cycle on the path beside where the cycle lane ends going round a bend in a part that barely fits two passing pedestrians... Two wrongs and all that...
The ND panto runs and runs

Who would have imagined it could last so long ?

Meanwhile, this appeared on another site

I've come to rant about Judge Krot.
She is an American judge and horrible bitch who said she wished she could send a 72 year old man suffering with cancer to jail because his garden was overgrown: he was too weak to take care of it.
The way she spoke to him as well, so rude, almost screaming at him. Angry

Ah Butty, that's not being rude, that's being a cunt.

It's also one of the times when that term is justified. If anyone hasn't seen how cancer systematically destructs a life they should not be allowed pass judgement. Cancer physically and mentally is a pox.

Presumably the case was brought by one of those ridiculous home owners associations.  Some of the stuff I've read about how petty they can be would make you despair for humanity.
American cities/counties/states are very strict for those fines, and it was a right mess impinging on the footpath etc., but her attitude was insane. Alone with cancer while the family is away and his son has rectified it since he was able to get home.

Like one of the comments on Youtube said: if his neighbours had any empathy they would have offered to sort out his garden for him, instead one of them took pictures of the garden and went to the authorities. Dodgy

So thats decided then Smile

Now can the world focus on the one  (yes, 1) Confused meter  tsumami wave that seems to have destroyed much of Tonga ?

Hopefully SpaceX will restore Tonga comms by bombing loads of Dishys and tweaking LEO of some Sats.....( Gwynne you know it makes sense,...the world will love you...exeapt, maybe, Jeff Smile )
Those satellite images are crazy! I also read that international humanitarian aid will be a risk as seemingly Tonga has zero Covid!

Almost true - it has one case which is resolved!

One of the new neighbours has been trying to get into my apartment, I can only assume she thinks it's her own as she's off her face on something. Left her sitting on the floor after trying to explain she lives the other end of the corridor.
