This is a momentous day because I have numerous rants and I never have any Big Grin

My skin started to sting and tingle a few months back so thought I would get it checked out. My fears were confirmed and I have rosacea and ocular rosacea. Sake. I love skin products so this is rubbish. No I have antibiotics to take, eye drops and special creams. No more potent vitamin c serum or my beloved Elemis cleansing balm. Skin doesn't look red or any different but the condition is there so better to get in under control before it does become visible.

I had intended to go to Costa earlier for a sit but thought it would be nicer to go to Avoca for a change. I'm now €100 poorer.

I've put on a stone (I'd say) since getting married.

I'm starting to realise a close friendship is very one sided. Was in hospital recently. Told her what was going on. Didn't call me, just a text. Daddy has dementia. Again no real chat. Told her I'm fed up with my skin...no acknowledgement.
Then last night I get a load of texts from her about man related issues.

Oh yeah. Daddy has dementia. Sure that's great craic altogether.
Unexpectedly rescheduled appointment moved forward 2 months for no apparent reason, and now clashes with another appointment in a different part of the country 🤬
Finally getting off my ass (well actually this task involves sitting on my ass...) and migrating my data from the old laptop I retired last Summer to the new one.
Turn on a Windows laptop for the first time in 9 months and what does it start doing... fecking downloading copious quantities of updates in the background, thing is slow enough to begin with what with being almost 11 year old 🤣
Why, just why. The amount of Marvel stuff getting released is ridiculous

I've come to moan about the price of airport parking, like feck sake DAA are gouging travellers as there is no competition with QPark gone. I can get a return flight for 104 (123 if I want a bigger checked bag) but three nights parking is 53 ????? Grrrrrrrrrrr, not counting the 6.40 for tolls 😠

Was going to try the Dublin Coach that runs my way, but it hasn't restarted the service post covid yet 😕

I can do a Luas/Aircoach combo for <15, but I need to change and if I was unlucky it could take over two hours late on a Sunday evening. And if my flight back was delayed more than 45mins I could run the risk of missing last Luas...

OK hopefully now that I've moaned I can just suck it up and just book... 🤣

Public transport to Dublin Airport is an absolute joke, and to think they're bringing in (or have already brought in) a charge just to drop someone off at the airport
They really should be prioritising fast tracking the Metro North. It would link into the Green Luas line and be epic!!! Big Grin Last I read they were talking about 2034 🤦‍♀️
I flew out at the weekend from Dublin and queues for security were crazy. I thought they sorted it, whats going on there?
Still onboarding new staff, think it's going to be busy into July as recruitment, vetting and training takes ages. Have a family member currently going through airside vetting and he says it's taking time and is definitely thorough 🤣
I have a toothache.
I don't have the energy for a toothache.
No dentist, in their right mind, would even see me presently

GO AWAAAAAAY toothache.
We have an international airport just up the road ., Knock airport (it's in Charlestown not knock ) flies loads of places, haven't had to use Dublin in years .

If I'm going somewhere with my Dad I use Knock, tis very handy (35mins from where he lives) and rather hassle free unless someone 🙄 decides to not start getting ready to go until the time you've agreed to be getting in the car to head to the airport and then you find your chosen route closed for roadworks... there was steam coming out of my ears that day, but we did make the flight 🤣

In better news when I went to book my flights this morning Ryanair are offering the same airport Blue carparking for 48 so I booked that and am now happy about the price because I had pretty much resigned myself to 53 after my rant last night 😂

Didn't know this, thanks. They must be onboarding quite a few together, it's causing quite a bit of disruption. Obviously I'm not a business analyst, I'm sure those in the know have it worked out.

GO AWAAAAAAY toothache.

I feel your pain.  Literally.  I was at the dentist on Monday after a weekend of agony, and again at 7.30 this morning after the initial treatment only worked for about a day to get an emergency root canal.  But because it was an emergency job he could only do the first part and remove the nerve causing the pain.  I have to go again in about three weeks to get the job completed.  It's still really painful, but I've been told that should diminish over the next few days.  In the meantime I'm going around like a zombie because I haven't slept properly in nearly a week.

Tooth pain is the most horrendous isn't it. I remember taking my little fella on his first holiday to London a few years back and coming down absolutely crippled with tooth ache.

Aunt got me an emergency dentist from the NHS who fixed things up but those 48 hrs were the most unimaginable suffering I've ever experienced.

Same tooth then caused more havoc about six months later and I decided to just get the damn thing pulled. No more issues (aside from a hole where my molar used to be pac )

My jaw wasn't big enough for my wisdom teeth so I had to have them removed. Thing is, they couldn't be pulled out as they wouldn't fit, so he got a set of pliers (I'm sure they have a medical name!) and shattered them in my mouth, then pulled out the bits. That was under local anaesthetic. It was almost 20yrs ago, I can still hear the noise they made reverberating around my skull 😬
Oh god make it stop.. I'm in pain just reading and thinking about this.. but yet I keep reading! pac

Fuck. Mine don't fit and attempt to come up every few years, most recently I thought I should maybe do something but can't get a dentist as none are taking new medical card patients, and even if I was private I think it was a 6 month wait for an appointment! That sounds horrendous, the wee bastards can stay where they are.
I had my wisdom teeth removed over 30 years ago. Had all 4 done at the same time under general anaesthetic. Piece of p*ss it was, although there were others in the ward with me who had a much rougher time than I had, so I just got very lucky.
Covid test again, hoping negative, I've sore throat and cough but am asthmatic
Apparently Rhianna had her baby today, so I no longer have to moan about seeing that bloody bump, thank god.

Then Vogue posted earlier a picture of Adriana Lima at Cannes in a long gown with the stomach part cut out, and low and behold, a fekn baby belly hanging out!

Apparently I have very long roots on my molars. It took three appointments and a shitload of local anesthetic to pull the monster, he showed it to me afterwards. Basically a hole had formed where the tooth cracked and any slight movement in the vicinity was causing contact with the nerve. I can testify to that because I was drugging myself to the gills with Neurofen Plus and Solpadeine for a week waiting for the first appointment!
Teeth. Eeeek. The pain is no joke. My dentist is really great but unless you are an existing patient then there is quite a wait to see them. Depending on the procedure I'm having done I get IV sedation as well so it ends up costing a fair bit. Double pain.
All the birds have gone mad this last couple of weeks and they play chicken with your car. Those fat pigeons are the worst, they don't fly off until the last second and then the fly right in front of you. What are they all doing on the road anyhow? Eating insects Huh
It’s nesting season. They need to collect food for many hungry mouths.

What is it with sea gulls (or herring gulls) in Dublin City Centre, especially around Stephen's Green Park? They are getting fierce brave and going right up to humans. It's a bit scary!

They're forced inland as fish stocks are depleted in the sea, and hunger is a better motivator than fear. Common enough to see them now in Kildare.

dunno about that.
easier to find food inland would be my guess.
fishing for fish in sea is harder than where they find food inland.

examples. out of peoples hands walking out of shops, oblivios to the swooping birds looking for easy meal.
beside bins, where people tried to get there unwanted reains of foods into the bin proper.
in bins that are open tp the elements, that is, not closed so that birds and other animals wont be obstruxted from gaining access to the foods.

why go fishing in the sea when the calories are easier to get overwatching the humans and picking up after them, are from them directly if you are daring enough, as some gulls definetly are!
Seems to be linked to an EU ban on fishermen discarding fish and safer nesting habitats.

The age to drive a tractor should be 18 with only 1 in it, two 12 / 13 years old had traffic backed up for miles with a tractor plenty opportunities to pull in let traffic pass out but no they wouldn't

I Googled it and I gather the legal age for driving a tractor, outside of a farm, is 16. They were breaking the law. Incidentally, the legal requirements are different on farms. it seems that under 14s cannot drive a tractor on farms, so these two should not have been driving a tractor - full stop. Over 14 year olds can drive (on the farm) if they meet certain requirements.
Sake. Had a hair appointment for 9am on top of an already busy day. Hairdresser rings just as I get there to say the shutter is stuck and they are waiting on a locksmith very sorry etc etc. So now I wait until 10.30 and hope all is fixed by then.

Fuck it anyway.

Oh and to garner maximum sympathy hairdresser is a traffic filled journey away so I'm up since 7.30 and it took am hour to get in. Parking going to cost a fortune as well because I could be in here longer than expected and I slept rotten and and and and and whinge 😭
Stick a fork in me, I'm done.

Not sleeping at all lately, no idea why! Getting about an hour and then waking up and not being able to get back asleep at all, drifting in and out for probably 10 mins at at a time but just cannot get a decent night, going on now about a week and I'm totally drained mentally and physically..

Stupid fucking body! pac

Eeek Sad Is there anything going on ? Maybe if you are stressed or pressured that can impact your sleep.

Probably is stress alright.. have loads going on at present 😬

Tried to play some golf to relax and switch off the weekend.. Turns out, golf's not a very relaxing game.. a good walk, ruined!

This probably won't help you, but....
I have found that when I go to bed late (usually unintended) that I get good quality sleep, although probably lacking some quantity! It is certainly better than waking up intermittently.

In general, though, I wish we could be like cats when it comes to sleeping. They get themselves in a comfortable position and they are asleep straight away. I'm most familiar with cats, but I am sure it applies to most animals, certainly dogs. Whatever happened to "counting sheep"? I think focussing the mind on one thing as you close your eyes is as good a way to put you to sleep as reading and sleeping pills (I'm guessing the latter - no direct experience).

If I don't have a good night's quality sleep (quality better than quantity again!), I'm more liable to have a rant about anything!
