Picked up a vomiting bug. I very rarely get sick, dang lorcan junior!

Urgh, hope you're not too bad

The entire family got it at Christmas, I was the only one that avoided it. A few days of the kids throwing up over me wasn't fun, but at least I want being sick myself at the time
I've never had a stomach bug, my immune system seems to suppress them. The worst I've had is a slightly dodgy tum with a little urgency is needing the loo, but never vomiting.

They sound absolutely miserable.
Car insurance quote gone up by €107 for absolutely no reason other than greed. It's become ridiculous expensive to live here. The government is useless.

Edit: Got an online quote elsewhere for €300 less somehow, I was actually under the minimum and got to add on the extra stuff for free. My NCT is expired 3 months but there's a 7 month wait time so what can I do? Hopefully they allow it. Can I move this post to the happy thread now? Big Grin

I'm very similar. The latter seems to happen a few times a year, but it's still better than the other.
I fucking hate retailers

I was gonna say shop around but looks like you beat me to it  Big Grin Always shop around for stuff like that, insurance companies are notorious for just lumping extra onto a premium & hope the customer takes it

My NCT is just out & can't get an apt for 6 months too, apart from maybe going on the emergency list but would be tough to book time off work at short notice..
The NCT should be for 2 years, the waiting times are disgraceful, same for driving tests and that tool from the Green Party Sleepy Ryan over transport now off to China, what a carbon food print in that journey and he don't want poor cows to fart or poo here

It is for two years if your car is less than 10 years old 🤣

I put myself on emergency list, the appointments they give you are not immediate, it was 2 weeks away from when i got the appointment, but the day before i was due to travel, so i cancelled it, and was able to get another appointment in July.
Why can't shoppers pack their groceries while they are being scanned instead of waiting until the end for all to be scanned, so frustrating queuing behind them
Spent the past four months trying to focus on preparing for exams, while shutting out everything else in life (even FoG!)

Finished them today and they did not go as well as I had hoped. So I might have to do them again in a few months' time anyway.
And even if they went better than expected, and I managed to pass them, I'll have another set to sit in September. And repeat this for at least another 2 years, in the best case scenario. (More likely 3-4 years, possibly even 5+ years).

The joys of deciding to dedicate your 30's to a notoriously difficult career path that you're not particularly suited to, simply because you fell into it and don't have a Plan B. >__<
Ah no! I do not envy you Homer
I don't envy me either! =P

@Homer J. Fong What you need is a good Sheep Game and luckily there is one nearly ready to go from Wichita if you are in quick!
I sympathise @Homer J. Fong, the exams are an absolute bugger. I never did finish, and couldn't do them now. It is really hard to dedicate so much time to them. Good luck with them, hopefully they went better than you think 🤞

Dad is into snooker so tried to get some tickets for next year's World Championships.. went on sale at 9 today, logged in at a minute or two past and they were all gone!

Not sure if it's on this year, and obviously it's not the same as a proper tournament, but have you seen the legends event at Goffs?

I've been wanting to go, have only heard really good things about it. Last year they had O'Sullivan, White, Hendry, Doherty...

Yeah we did that a good few years ago, had o sullivan,  Doherty, Stuart Bingham and a few more

As you said its more of an exhibition for the lads but it's good fun and the lads in commentary are at it too. If you're interested definitely worth a shot cause it's definitely fastest finger first for The Crucible  Big Grin
I hate family fighting especially being stuck in the middle, need family time out break
I'M HAVING AN EXISTENTIAL CRISIS   Confused

Dodgy  or maybe it's just a headache...idk
My boss is off for a week. Woohoo!....

... and I just got two emails from him.
What a sad life, to be on a cruise in the Mediterranean and still checking your work email.

Someone actually joined one of our meetings using zoom on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean, and they had the best signal somehow

Stupid 1975 concert last night. Was at a pub in Clontarf and forgot how absolutely non-existent the public transport support is for these events.

I was on a cruise some years ago and wifi was available, but it cost a fortune. Some people were trying hard to get some signal anytime we were near the shore.

Even the crew were encouraging people to forget about the phones and internet and enjoy the bubble that was being on a cruise. That is, drop the phone and go to the bar and order overpriced drinks  Rolleyes

Edit:
I was off last month for a week, the first thing I did when I left the office was turn off notifications on my phone and tablet. It helped to disconnect 100%.

Oh. Was it really bad?
Going to Pulp in the same spot tomorrow and was thinking of getting the train in...
I'm sick of this weather now.
Seen it was raining this morning & was delighted, only for it to then be be like the Sahara desert the rest of the day.
Has me drained all afternoon & needed a little nap too. & I still feel tired but probably won't sleep with the heat.  Dodgy

Amen to that. I hate Summer, give me cold over heat any day of the week - can always layer up when its baltic out, but can't exactly rip my skin off when its like this. People who like good weather/summer always try to tell me I'm wrong and that I should "enjoy it while it lasts", despite the fact that I explain to them that as well as the heat, the air literally tries to suffocate me and drains my energy because of hayfever and due to a condition with my eyes the incessant blinding light of the sun triggers migraines left, right, and centre so I'm constantly miserable, unwell and in pain. And still they be like, "but isn't it so nice to be able to sit outside, we should count ourselves lucky" and then act surprised when I tell them to piss off...  Dodgy
Ah yes, the sun lovers have no concept that "good" weather can mean different things to different people, and not everyone is walking around skantily clad and just begging for skin cancer.

Aside from having to spread your limbs out like a starfish to try and get any sleep at night, I'm definitely in the pro-heat camp as well 😁

Another in the pro heat camp too!
Starfishing in the bed , when you touch the cold part of the sheets, bliss !

Plus my RA doesn't flare up as much in warm weather 😊

Give me a crisp autumn or frosty winter's day over this misery, once it's not raining or sweltering I'm happy.
Yeah, middle of the road works for me too, mid to late teens is perfect (temperate only before ye dirty minded folk start on me)

Can't even go out for a walk the way it is at the moment without sweating
