Too many people think crimes and disappearances can be solved in the space of an hour-long episode of TV. I get that they're trying to help, but when the police tells them to f--- off, they really need to take the hint

Imagine her kids being able to read all this, I feel for them

All that stuff has nothing to do with the police or the dive search team.
The personal information had to be released otherwise The Sun and Daily Mail were going to sensationalise it.
Random loopers making claims about decoy phones and her 100% not being in the river have more to answer for than the authorities.

I could be wrong but didn't some police and dive crew say she was not in the water and if searched thoroughly she could have been found sooner
I'm ready for the backlash, but I will never understand why Irish media follow so much what happens in the UK.

For the last couple of weeks, every time I went into the journal or joe.ie, this story was always a headliner or there would be pop up window with the latest updates.
It was the same in the case of the girl killed in England a couple of years ago. There was even a vigil in Dublin.

Don't get me wrong. it is a tragic story, but sure people disappear and are murdered in the continent too and you never hear of it.

It's the obsession with UK news (sports specially, what do I care how Andy Murray is doing at the Australian open?) that baffles me.

I think you're right Barna, I find it a bit odd

Politics that affects NI etc I completely understand, but otherwise it seems OTT to me, and I grew up over there so presumably have more interest than most
Totally agree on that. It makes sense to cover politics relating the north.

I still have Brexit fatigue though

The police said she was in the river from day 1, it was the independent 'expert' brought in by her family who said he would have found her if she was there and then concluded she wasn't.

Apparently it's not straight forward to find a body in water, especially one with tides. As unpleasant as it is many aren't found until they float as gases build up during decomposition.

The rubberneckers who turned up to trespass and search properties while they filmed it for social media are the assholes here.

I totally get it, I guess I just like current affairs Big Grin

Not just in Engerland either, I see the Spanish rail chief is in bother over ordering 250 odd million worth of trains that are too wide for the tunnels in the region 😂😂

They made a bollocks out of it. Two have resigned (something unseen in Spain!)

If it's any relief, the trains were only on the design stage of the manufacturing.

I've been negative for covid for 10 days now but haven't been able to shake the cough yet. Last night I coughed so hard I gave myself a hernia 😳

A bit of my intestine is literally sticking out through my (admittedly almost non existent) muscles!

Spoke to a doc on the phone and it seems it isn't really anything to worry about, and it doesn't hurt, but it's pretty weird. I have to see a doctor in person next week and it likely needs a small operation to patch everything back up

I never really knew what hernias were, apparently 25% of men get them at some point

This most recent Covid strain definitely leaves the cough for ages afterwards. Both myself and Necrina had it for about two and a half weeks after!

That sounds bad and disgusting, sorry @E.N. take care and I hope all goes good for you

Covid so many different strains, affects everyone differently and long term effects are a nightmare
Gosh EN that's tough - I'm always conscious of that possibility now when I get a cough because I had abdominal surgery previously and know that puts me at much higher hernia risk 🙈 Thankfully so far no sign of it happening and after the last 8 weeks of non Covid cough maybe I'm proof against 🤣

Got my second booster today and feel like crap 😖 was all not so worried because the first booster didn't even leave a sore arm but this one is much more determined 😒

Ah E.N., you're Joey...   (feel better soon, hope your cough eases and your hernia too)

Ah  no ari, hope you feel better too, I've heard it's really rough for a few days.

Happy belated birthday Aaron!

Hope everyone survives another monday, be strong y'all!
Thanks guys, got a doc's appointment this morning, hopefully I'll be patched up in no time

Good luck @ari101, getting over the booster and not getting a hernia 🙈
I just cried at Paul O Gradys for love of dogs and I'm not a big pets dogs person

I know. The best excuse I had heard so far was a band of swans invading the tracks.

But, apparently a couple of weeks ago a train did hit a greyhound  Sad
