I love Elf
Blush I have never seen Elf.... nor that one film, what's it called--- em em, A Wonderful  Life, is it? ...then again, I never seen Die Hard either, which I hear is supposedly a Christmas movie, (but I just can't wrap my head around that particular idea). Big Grin

Come to think about it, I haven't seen Nightmare before Christmas either... Are there any films worth watching in the coming season?

Yeah, pretty much all the movies you've mentioned there Tongue
About 5 mins into Die Hard you'll see why it's a Christmas movie as well!
Elf is one of my favourite Christmas movies. I'd put a vote in for Bad Santa too!
If you've netflix and didn't see Klaus I'd highly recommend it, really great animated film

Quote:After proving himself to be the worst student at the academy, a postman is sent to a frozen town in the North where he discovers a reclusive toymaker named Klaus.
Die Hard is my favourite Christmas movie Big Grin and Love Actually maybe!
People always forget that Die Hard 2 is also a Christmas movie. Big Grin
When the inevitable Die Hard Christmas film argument starts...

There is no argument.  There are those who recognise Die Hard as a Christmas movie, and there are those who are wrong. Big Grin

In fairness, there is no real argument about it.. its a Christmas movie.. set at Christmas, Christmas music playing throughout various scenes, a dead guy with ho ho ho on his blood stained tee-shirt..  but the most damning of all is the movie takes one of the main things about Christmas and puts it central to the plot. Spending time with family.
Nothing says Christmas like "Yippee Ki Yay, motherfucker"

The defence rests.

I definitely don't recall saying that...

lol Big Grin

...a debate for the ages!

I doubt Action Bruce originally signed up to do a predominantly 'Christmas' Flick, but I suppose any film set in the season can be considered a Christmas film - like "While You Were Sleeping" - I never considered it a Christmas film (the main focus being on something else entirely), but others do.... I suppose, "Christmas is in the eye of the beholder" Smile

Thanks for the movie advice everyone, I shall see definitely see what comes available   to view, this season! Smile

Let's just say I didnae add him to my list of favourite actors  in Linemans tourney, lol.

I am not a fan of that Will Ferrell dude (at all), but will try to give him a chance in Elf, if it comes on.

I like old horror movies - The Fog, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Ring and The Grudge. I have a soft spot for Psycho too.

I've lost the nerve for horror movies now so I haven't watched any in a good few years though!

I love Bruce Willis and Will Ferrell!

Watch Blades of Glory and The Elf and you'll change your mind about Ferrell, he'll never win an Oscar because he'll always be typecast, but his performance in The Elf was a hilarious mixture of naivety and lack of self-awareness.

Stop, Mam. He is absolutely divine. I remember babysitting every Saturday night in my teens and the kids would be in bed. I'd have homework with me to do but I'd stop and watch Moonlight on Rte and just drool over Brucie.

And so it begins...Son has started to drop in presents for his partner, for me to wrap and put away until Christmas . He can't bring them home as she'd find them and if he asked her mother to do it , she'd hand them over to her pac
