My decorations come down 9n 6th January. No sooner. My fingers hurt this evening as my decorations this year were mostly Lego, so I had to dismantle a few sets.
Sigh, time to start thinking about presents so any online deliveries come in good time and time to think about the plans for the day itself.

Just before you posted this, I was actually thinking about  ordering some catalogues (I'm old school) to start planning for gifting this year... brilliant mspaintcrazy minds must think alike.
Decorations are already on display for sale in Brown Thomas.  Confused

Picked up the first few presents today. Hoping to have everything bought before Halloween. Yeah, yeah, too early.

Had an email that dropchef are doing a Christmas box, would be a better option for me as it'll be portioned for one. Don't think I'll be bothering with visiting family, I'm not actually too bothered with the day itself, not religious and the pressure of the day really gets to me. I just like a nice quiet day, with good food, decent tv and if I'm lucky a few presents to unwrap.

Maybe starting so early is an anxiety coping mechanism...

I would think of [censored] this early only to start looking for flights home. But the dates this year are nightmare.
Of course I'm not allowed to finish work early, so I'll have to pay a fortune to go home.

Usually ours would be up the day of the toy show (wife's decision,  like everything else!) But we're away to Chicago for Christmas this year so we're not bothering putting up a tree.  Probably just as well with a soon to be 1 year old boy  Big Grin

I hope Lorc junior settles on the flight, but great to be heading away for Christmas.

Sounds familiar Tongue

We were away last night, seeing santa at the Hidden Valley in Kildare (pretty good, and we had a lodge to stay over after. This was the only weekend we could book though, obviously popular) so we did the tree today. Early than I'd choose to, but it is nice all the same

Well he loves going on the train and bus cause he's nosy and wants to look at everyone and everything

8 hour flight might be different though!

I only know that cause I live very close to it! The guy who owns it is raking it in  Smile They do great business in summer too with the camping site and activities

If you're ever down there again message me and if I'm around I'll pop down to say hello! I pass by it with the dog at least once a day!

Ah, no way!
Yeah, it was really busy, I can imagine they do well!
I think the santa thing and our lodge were decent value though, and it was nice place. Restaurant was overpriced and average, but not bad
I bought new LED xmas lights today - I figure the investment will save enough electricity within a couple of years and is safer than rolling our the incandescent ones again they are all at least 8 years old 😂
The tree however will not be going up to after the 8th!!! 😅
