I was half-thinking about it, but want to go see James Bond first.  I was a big fan of the books when I was younger, and the David Lynch film was a disappointing mess so anything has to be an improvement.  From what I've seen the new film looks impressive, the only thing that's putting me off is that I haven't really enjoyed any Denis Villeneuve films I've seen so far.

Think they ended up 203 each or something similar. There were supposed to be ones for ...150ish?, which was the aim pac but given the two dates sold out in minutes (excluding VIP level packages) I was just glad to get any! Been rescheduled twice now due to Covid, so by the time it rolls around next year, it'll feel free it was so long since they were bought Smile
I only read Dune for the first time last year, and didn't care for it much at all, so I'm not really that pushed about seeing the film. And like Zaph, Villeneuve doesn't really draw me to it either. The only one I liked of his was Prisoners. Arrival was way overrated. I've not seen Blade Runner 2049 as I didn't really care for the original anyway.
I don't think I've seen the original Dune, strange as its the kinda thing I would watch. The reboot is premiering on HBO max on the 21st so I will probably check it out.
Should I watch the original first or not really needed?
Don't touch the original with a barge pole
.
We are going to see Queen with Adam Lambert next year, the VIP tickets weren't that much more expensive, so we got those. Think 2 tickets cost around £450.

Re: theatre tickets, I don't mind paying €70 for some shows. I have a favourite seat in Bord Gais, middle of a row where the height starts increasing, and it's perfect. For a big production like Lion King I would pay for that. It's worth it, the production is just excellent.
We are going to Book of Mormon in December, I love that show so we got the most expensive tickets for it.

I was trying to remember my fav spot but it's been so long I'm not sure pac I'm super central in Row S for Lion King but I think I like to be a few rows closer normally.  A VIP for £225 each seems decent value.

I'd say all entertainment sector gigs and shows will be expensive now coming back after Covid19 pandemic, but no matter what ye are going to enjoy

It's brilliant! We are going with my friend and her husband. We met them for dinner recently, and he turned to me and said how much am I going to hate this? Big Grin He thought it was a serious musical, when we told him who the writers are his face lit up!
Netflix aired a Diana musical, I kid you not

Venom 2 is enjoyable, nice length with Woody hamming it up Nic Cage level
Loved the Uncharted video games, that looks so much better than it has any right to

Although if Nolan North and Emily Rose don't make cameo appearances, I'll want my money back Big Grin

I know Tom Holland is 25 but he looks younger but he has a big fan base from Spiderman and is dating Zendaya

Marky W as Sully I'm not sold on
Dune was brilliant, has to be seen in a cinema
Army of thieves, a prequel to Arm of the dead, hit Netflix today.
I thought the first movie was good mindless fun so I will probably check out the new movie

That's awful quick isn't it? Army of the dead was only out a few months ago iirc? I liked the movie up to the ending which I hated but I'm going to give this a shot anyways as it's a prequel
Finished my Shocktober last night with Halloween Kills. Picks up right after the previous movie like the original 2 did. I really enjoyed both movies, for a contempory slasher movie, it's as good as any.
You will find the die hard franchise fans complaining it is nothing like the originals which are over 40 years old, how on earth are you meant to compare movies that long apart, you can't. I like the franchis as much as the next guy and this is a decent trilogy reboot which I believe will be completed next year. Recommended
Eternals has instantly become my favourite Marvel movie...

It may not be getting the greatest reviews from the viewing public, but that's probably only because a lot of people can't handle films that require them to pay attention and engage their brains...

I'm going to see Eternals in an hour. Reviews are disappointing. @Rachel Stevens on a Pogo Stick I will try to engage my brain Big Grin

It does seem to be polarizing. Anyone I've spoken to about it, have really loved it though.

Loved it. Really really enjoyed that, and based on reviews I was not expecting to.

Yay! Glad to hear you liked it too.

Was reading some of the more criticial reviews after I had watched it myself and I had to wonder if the people claiming it was boring or not character driven enough had actually seen the same film as me.

The trailers look excellent. It's a great way to revive the story, and the return of Ecto-1 Big Grin

Managed to get tickets to the Lion King after this, for Jan 8th. Now it's being reduced to 50% and they're doing it first come first served. I agree that that's fair, but it means we'll definitely get cancelled Sad

(they're doing voluntary cancellations first, but I would literally need half to take that up given how late we bought ours)
