No real trees but everyone has a flipping star!

We have a unicorn atop our tree.

My mum used to have a bit of thing about Des Lynam. One year I saw a cartoon of him dancing on some magazine cover so I cut it out and glued it on to some card. I'm pretty sure I meant it as a joke, but she had that on her tree for years!
I can't believe I actively worked against myself by mistakenly saying yes.

Yeah I thought it’d be about even with angels.
I remember as a kid my (very Catholic) parents* being adamant that it should be a star to represent the star guiding the Wise Men to Bethlehem. Which I never really quite understood because if you’re going to believe in the story at all then an angel makes as much sense as they were present too.
Allegedly. Though at least stars do actually exist
* yeah, the same parents who wouldn’t allow ’Merry Christmas’ because of the drunk connotations.

Wow...I'm at a race to the bottom now..
I actually leave the top of the tree bare. Just one sprig sticking up from the artificial pine tree.
Yea I'm that weirdo...

I genuinely thought stars and angels weren't used any more because I see so many people with themed tree's. Like candy cane tree and what not.
That's why I went so low

Ditto.
Christmas music today. It routinely comes top of polls of best Christmas songs, but do you agree?
#Advent Question 16:
Is "Fairytale Of New York" the best Christmas song?
What percentage of players do you think will say yes?
PMs to me before this evening, reveal about 9

Dammit, I nearly went 30!
I like Fairytale of New York but voted No because I don't think there is any one greatest Christmas song; you could argue it's one of the best "contemporary" ones but how do you compare it to something like O Holy Night? Apples and oranges. Totally depends on mood, setting and other variables.
Also the original is indirectly responsible for the Ronan Keating version, which is arguably the worst thing to ever come out of Ireland.

Same here HJF , I like it too but voted no also .
O Holy Night is my favorite "religious" Christmas song .
@
E.N. , can you make tomorrows question easier ?
Something like how many grains of sand on a beach or something?
Too many days left to claim a two horse race!
(watch me drop like a stone now that I've embodied some likely false bravado
)
I have been very slowly climbing up the leaderboard all week.
Beep beep, Zaph!!!
I voted Yes, but I don't think it is
the best Christmas song.
Just that it is
one of the best Christmas songs, because I do really like it.
But then again I like a lot of crimbo songs. It's my favourite time of the year and I love when the songs start playing on the radio, or in the shops

The difficulty of the questions is down to the weirdness of the players, there's nothing I can do about that
