easier to find food inland would be my guess.
fishing for fish in sea is harder than where they find food inland.
examples. out of peoples hands walking out of shops, oblivios to the swooping birds looking for easy meal.
beside bins, where people tried to get there unwanted reains of foods into the bin proper.
in bins that are open tp the elements, that is, not closed so that birds and other animals wont be obstruxted from gaining access to the foods.
why go fishing in the sea when the calories are easier to get overwatching the humans and picking up after them, are from them directly if you are daring enough, as some gulls definetly are!
