A place to vent frustrations!

@Purple Mountain now we have one!
I was in another thread and there was someone ranting on about Christmas songs playing in a shop in October. I have no issues with that, should be playing from September imo.
@Kol that's fighting talk so it is...
I'm sure they probably torture people in detention camps with Christmas music on a loop.
Have you heard the Christmas-themed self-checkouts in Dealz? Oh my God, they make you want to gouge your ears out

I did last year, they had the Elvis ones for a while too, or was Elvis the Christmas ones?
Christmas topics outside the Christmas thread Sad

Seriously?? I'm rarely in Dealz. That would drive me to the nearest pub to get drunk to blot it out.
October, basically.

Always seems to be a month of change and stress. Glad this particular one will be over soon. Until then, the forced march continues.
Ooooohh my kind of thread!
My lovely little bitch cat. Bought her a beautiful, cosy, deep bed in Aldi yesterday. If it was bigger, I'd nap in it myself.
No matter how much I coax her or put her lying in the bed, she jumps out and plonks herself on my 2 seater sofa which she also thinks is her personal scratching post.
Lucky she's cute, otherwise she'd have had her p45 by now!
Maybe the new smell of the bed puts her off. Purples, are cats like dogs about wanting to be close? I mean, would tossing in a worn t-shirt of yours help attract her to the new bed?

My rant: Unrealistic deadlines callous  authority figures  lord over you, regardless of disability... ruining entire weekends, as well as weekdays.

Oh my, who knew!  shock Big Grin

I could rant all day about my "boss"  who is beyond reason...    world revolves around her every fecking demand  and convenience, regardless of the needs of others.
Bosses are the worst. Barely human. That's my experience anyway.
Don't get me started on management.

Ran into my last boss a few weeks ago, she was a total disaster, she asked when I'd be back... No. Just no.
Looks like I lucked out with my current manager. They're just amazing, supportive when required, tough when needed and otherwise take a back seat and let us get on with our job.

Now, their immediate predecessors on the other hand, well, I won't say too much as giving a rundown of their characteristics would unmask me as well. Let's just say there was plenty of room for improvement!
Bosses often being terrible (Trigger excluded, I'm sure Tongue) is down to the Peter principle: "In a hierarchy, every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence."
I actually thought my latest was pretty good until the moment they changed the rules without telling me, expected me to know the rules had changed, and then wouldn't let me speak up for myself.

Then there's those at more supervisory level who either simply don't have a clue, don't listen, or bark at you if you try and approach them with a query.

Someone tried to do this to me once, I turned down the promotion (go self awareness, knowing I would be shit at the job) Big Grin Then they told me they weren't replacing my boss who was leaving, but their work wouldn't all fall on me... Yeah we all know how that was going to go Dodgy so I quit pac (wanted out anyway but this was a great motivator to do it Wink)
The insurance claim I made for my "missed" flight (denied access more like) back from Spain has been denied

And my lovely manager who's supposed to be on holidays is bombarding me with emails.

Is it Friday yet?
My counsellor thinks I should give group therapy another try.

He's right but I'm pissed off anyway
People!

That is all.
If this shit rag that likes to call itself a newspaper is going to make claims like this, they should at least be right...
There is a higher one in Chivay, Peru Dodgy

I realise this is a completely stupid inconsequential fact but it irked me pac

Maybe its an inconsequential fact to you but to me it prompts two very important questions.

1.  Is it safe to cross Bo-Peep ?

2. Do these Irish pubs follow the NPHET/Gov of Ireland/Whoever they are hiding behind today ( delete as appropriate ) guidelines ?

If not, how can they claim to be Irish pubs ?

Haha, it's a bit tough... I'll stick with my rack a lamb Wink
I watched a full movie today, beginning to end, and only when I went to rate it on IMDB did I realise that I had seen it before as I'd already rated it. Zero memory of a signal detail about it. And not even that long ago - less than five years. Alzheimer's here I come!
Can't have been that memorable of a movie then pac
Why the hell do they roast the shelled peanuts these days? Plain unroasted like in the old days are so much nicer!

I got unroasted monkey nuts in Aldi.

GPs receptionists, who seem to leave the phone off the hook when it suits themselves * . How on earth are you meant to request a call back from the GP if you can't get through in the first place ?!

*
One of the receptionists used to do it pre covid , so I'm assuming she's at it again .
+1 Also, why don't GPs just have email, so you can book your appointment or ask your query that way. It would surely save everyone time.
Actually, on the same subject, I was recently looking for a new GP and nearly all of them weren't taking new patients. But one told me to email them, a form would be automatically sent back to me, I could fill it out and send it back to them. So I did all of that, only for them to tell me that they weren't taking new patients. Like, why couldn't they have just told me that in the first place instead of the rigmarole of getting me to complete the form??
