Too many days left to claim a two horse race! (watch me drop like a stone now that I've embodied some likely false bravado )

So I'd like to refer to my post after Thursday when I was hanging onto 4th... 

I assumed more houses are like mine, there are no little people so why the rush, we do ours in the afternoon either while dinner is on cooking or after it. It's all pressure and expectation and you have to be ready to pretend you like stuff which I find really uncomfortable.

Never? They are the go to present for extended family and aqquaintances, no need to put any thought into it . They are handy because you can grab some when they are on special offer and then give them away as needed.

I said 80% because I assumed everyone regifted the excess sweets and alcohol! I don't drink wine so any wine I get is recycled straight away.
One year I got three jewellery boxes..I kept the nicest, returned one (gift receipt) and someone in my extended family got the third! Bah humbug...

Let's say someone unexpected calls to your door with a present, you can quickly throw a tub of sweets or biscuits in a nice bag and say 'these are for you, I was going to call around with them but you've saved me the journey'

My mam did that one year but dad had eaten half a box of sweets leaving the empty wrappers in the box, now the sweets are hidden from him and Mrs. Doyle gets a lovely bunch of fresh flowers not regifted now, for a diabetic dad would eat sweets 24/7
