Went a bit Ticketmaster happy this evening and booked myself tickets for 10 upcoming gigs in Dublin, and it gave me the idea for this thread...

Basically share who/what you're booked in to see for Live Music, Theatre etc. in the foreseeable future... Throw in your favourite song from the band or musical you're going to see if you like, etc. etc.

These are the 10 I have in the pipeline myself, and I can't bloody wait...

Am I really uncool that I don't know any of those?@Rachel Stevens on a Pogo Stick
I had tickets to Alanis Morissette but she cancelled her European tour.
Was supposed to see Madness this month, cancelled this morning  Rolleyes

All the other bands I wanted to see were sold out before I found about about it, usually a few days after  Rolleyes

HAIM is the only one of those I know

I've only heard of Haim out of all them.  Kids these days and their new-fangled music, eh? Big Grin

We tend to go to stand-up rather than music gigs.  At the moment we have tickets, or are waiting for shows to be re-scheduled for Iain Stirling, Rhod Gilbert, Nish Kumar and Catherine Bohart.  We also have tickets for the My Dad Wrote a Porno podcast live show, which I can't wait for.  I'm a little concerned about the Catherine Bohart show.  We saw her in Draoicht in Blanchardstown the week before the first lockdown, and we were in the front row.  Guess who the audience patsy was for the night?  And guess what row we have tickets for at the next show... Confused

Looking forward to that one. The first time I saw him (The Award Winning Mince Pie) was the funniest show I've ever seen. Also got tickets for Kathryn Ryan, and hoping to see Daniel Sloss if we can make the December show

Music wise not so much. Being in the sticks with a couple of young kids mean it has to be a weekend and something my wife wants to see too or it's unlikely I'll make it. Got Chuck Ragan in Whelans in April, he's cracking live, and Spiritualized in May, who are just audio perfection

Going to see The Book of Mormon in a couple of weeks and The Lion King in January too, so we're doing reasonably well Smile
Actually, I do have tickets..well they were a gift from me to my mam Christmas '19. It's Andre Rieu in the 3.
She wants me to go with her, even though I don't know if it's my cup of tea.
This will be the fourth date announced due to three reschedule due to the blasted restrictions.
@Rachel Stevens on a Pogo Stick I Love Ingrid Andress and Aly and Aj ? Didn’t know they were playing over here. Would love to see Carly Pearse play. I have Westlife to look forward to next year and that’s it so far.
I thought Aly and AJ had gave up singing for acting

Enjoy your Gigs @Rachel Stevens on a Pogo Stick

Nah, I'm just a big fan of indie and less mainstream bands - prefer those sort or gigs than going off to massive arenas for the "household names that everyone and their uncle know about" type acts. It also means the ticket prices are generally very reasoable.

Yeah... Kids... I'm only 19... pac

Oh, didn't know he had a new show... Must see if there are still any tickets, his live shows are always brilliant.

Nor did I until I started looking into upcoming gigs in work yesterday when I was bored. It was like Christmas Morning for me last night getting all my tickets e-mailed through.

They definitely were pretty focused on the acting for a few years there because they were regulars on iZombie or The Goldbergs/Schooled, but they seem to be giving all their attenion to music again now.

It's The Book of John, covid delayed. Think he's been touring it for years as a result so you may have seen it already. He's at the Olympia in May
So many shows have been postponed at this stage, I don't even know when some are rescheduled to.

Like @E.N., I am going to see Book of Mormon in a couple of weeks. I've seen it in London before, but really enjoy the show.

We also have tickets to Dadi Freyr in the Olympia at some stage. Remember them from Eurovision?

In May next year we have tickets to Werk the World in The 3Arena, and up to Belfast the following day for Queen and Adam Lambert.

I don't have tickets for RHCP in Marlay, but the inlaws live across the road from the Park basically, so think we will be "attending" from their back yard.

You're not alone. I don't know any of them either.

Reminds me of this time I went to the George and the commotion and jaws dropping when I told someone I didn't know that song gaga did for A Star Is Born, or who was Ariana Grande?

That's my neck of the woods... Reasonably fair chance I might know your inlaws...  Tongue
I'd love to see Adam Lambert with Queen

We were having a very bad lockdown blues day, saw it was on and just decided feck it! We got VIP tickets which cost a lot of money, but the regular tickets that were left weren't all that much cheaper for a lot worse seating.
We missed them when they played Marlay a few years ago, and have regretted it since.
Is there a good website for collated listings for Ireland or Dublin?

I follow a few venues on twitter but ideally I'd just like new gig announcements, not all the general promo stuff

Found this one handy enough during the week...

https://www.songkick.com/metro-areas/293...and-dublin
Somehow missed this one during my booking frenzy last night, so just added another gig to my already lengthy list of gigs...

YONAKA in The Academy on February 5th

Anyone going to Garth Brooks, his only European shows are here next year, is it 5 nights at Croke Park?
Another gig lined up for next year. Arab Strap had a Vicar Street gig cancelled in September, but are replacing it with a little tour so I get to see them in Whelan's, even better

As Days Get Dark is my favourite album of the year, if you haven't listened to it you should give it a spin!

I got tickets for Garth Brooks this morning for the original Saturday date. Now they have announced 3 more nights, I can't deal with all this drama again. They should have just left the original two, if you didn't get tickets, hard luck, but that's life! We can't have everything we want!

They got all the approvals etc lined up in advance this time, I think, so there shouldn't be any drama

Sounds like the ticketmaster queue was crazy this morning, the demand is obviously still there. I'm well out of the loop, didn't know a single one of his songs until my walrus, and I didn't like the one that was entered there Tongue
Nah, I queued on two laptops and phone, I had 2 tickets bought on my laptop by 8:20am. I'm going with my cousin, she got in around the same time as me - her friend was queuing also, so she bought for her. Then when I went back to my 2md laptop, I was in and able to buy more tickets if I wanted (all for the Saturday) at around 8:35am.
My cousin is a massive fan, I was a big fan in my teens for a while so going for the nostalgia (and would still listen to some of his stuff today), but I do really enjoy country music!

Has all 5 gigs sold out?

It's his only European shows so big demand

I just logged on there and spent 30 seconds in queue system, and the could buy 8 tickets if i wanted to for the Saturday gig, so its defo not sold out.

oh, you have to click find tickets, i couldn't get 8, but i could get 3 together for saturday and 5 together for friday, so, again, not a freely available as i thought above, but defo not sold out.
10% off ticketmaster gift cards today, might be useful for some of you

My first Live Gig in 2 years was tonight (GIRLI with supporting act July Jones) and it was class... Didn't realise how much I needed it - actually feel alive again after the absolute shit show that the last 20 months have been...

Unwilling to wait until January for my next gig, just booked 2 for December and (adding to my always growing gigs list) shall be going to see...

Bitch Falcon ; 11.12.21 - Whelans

The Riptide Movement ; 23.12.21 - Whelans

Both good choices there!
Seem them both before, would have been tempted again but fitting in everything around this time of year is a pain

I'm not a fan of "the Holiday Season" so need something to help fill the void.
Also need something to look forward to, to help endure the next 3 and a half weeks of work. pac

Oh I hear you, but my folks are separated and live in the UK, so I always have to leave time to see them. I'd rather be in Whelan's Big Grin

Looks like lots of gigs getting cancelled, then "new" seated gigs going on sale for the same night. Seems a reasonable way of doing it. Fair few people doubling up on their shows too, fair play

Was due to go to a Liverpool Legends night next week but that's been cancelled. No surprise. It was the first day of my Christmas holidays though, was really looking forward to starting it with a piss up Tongue

Aww, rescheduled to April... That's so far away...

Off to see The Lion King, dreading being stuck there with mask on when I'm sure there will be weepie bits (I'm a sucker for weepie bits... and that really doesn't work with a mask 😅😷😢😤)

Enjoy, cracking show Smile
It was very good. Unfortunately I didn't know it was a captioned performance when I booked it and this really proved rather distracting. It also seemed to stick a toe over into almost Panto territory, inviting the audience to be rather raucous compared to what I would expect from a more traditional show.

I also want to strangle all the people with their rustling bags of sweets!
Dodgy
Going to see this lot tonight

Oh, how did I miss this thread!!! Excellent stuff!!

I have my first concert tonight, after a 26 month break.
I'm going to Simply Red at the 3Arena tonight.
After that I have (with tickets in hand already):
Les Miserables at the Grand Canal Theatre
Damon Albarn at the National Concert Hall
Jason Donovan at the Olympia Theatre
Roisin Murphy at the Olympia Theatre
Trevor Noah at the 3Arena
Gary Numan at the Olympia Theatre
Einsturzende Neubauten - twice, first in Brussels and then at the National Concert Hall
Sinead O'Connor at the Iveagh Gardens (which I don't think will happen, as she announced retirement from touring)
and finally Jimmy Carr at the Olympia Theatre.

But I also have a big list of events that I haven't bought tickets yet but they are under consideration - including (among others) Sasha Velour, Roosevelt, White Lies, Wardruna (which might be sold out already), Sparks, Everything Everything and Laurie Anderson.

And as I always say: nothing beats live music!!!
