I'm ready for the backlash, but I will never understand why Irish media follow so much what happens in the UK.
For the last couple of weeks, every time I went into the journal or joe.ie, this story was always a headliner or there would be pop up window with the latest updates.
It was the same in the case of the girl killed in England a couple of years ago. There was even a vigil in Dublin.
Don't get me wrong. it is a tragic story, but sure people disappear and are murdered in the continent too and you never hear of it.
It's the obsession with UK news (sports specially, what do I care how Andy Murray is doing at the Australian open?) that baffles me.
