Myself and buile are gonna be running a sheep together, could someone give me a crash course in how the sheepulator works please? from reading the guide on git hub I load a text file of questions into it? whats the best and easiest process to follow then for a sheep game ? like how I keep track of scores etc and I have to download the pms that people send me with their answers is it ?

Once you have set up a new file (File/New Reveal) you load the questions under Sheep/Edit Questions...
Then you can input the entries under Sheep/Edit Entries (Load txt file or Add New Player and copy/paste in their replies)
It defaults to standard sheep scoring (if running other games there are scoring options on the Sheep Menu)

On the home screen you can select the questions to see the answers already loaded (can check if there are any issues and you can drag answers together if you need to group something.
The Output menu will give you a player list, and you can use the copy answers for each question and copy total scores up to that question to get the output you need for a Reveal.
You need to select the question number on the home screen before you do the Copy answers/scores to get the answers and scores for that question.
Then you can paste them into posts. I'm not sure if the formatting on score tables is straight off perfect or if there is a better added step to make them look nicer.

Make sure you Save Reveal as you go to not lose things.
If you close out you can get back to where you were with the Load Reveal option.
Was it really over two years...   Whoops sorry... Life just got in the way 🙈😅

If you have any formatting or importing recommendations do share.

I usually just do a good old fashioned copy paste.

I'm a copy/paster too. Especially as there's usually a few that need to be adjusted

Would ye normally have everything ready to go and have all the questions inputted into the sheepulator at once and have everything ready before the reveal or do ye input the questions one at a time during the reveal? if that makes sense?

I input all the questions and answers before hand myself, I like to prepare in advance.

Great I was thinking it would be easier that way. It saves them then to a text file is it? and you just copy paste the answers then is it ?

No it is saved to a file that you open in the sheepulator program.

When doing the reveal open the program, load the reveal file, and go to Output/Copy answers... Paste into a post... Output/Copy scores... Paste into a post... Question 2 change the number of the question showing in the sheepulator and repeat copying.

When you have the questions inputted and you get a few sets if answers start inputting them and mess around with the output functions and you'll get it.
I do sometimes copy the output into a text file in advance if I want to prep gifs based on it.

As per the PM's it will get clearer and easier as you go. Play around with it.

I like to populate the sheepulator as the answers come in to me.
So, if I receive a pm with answers, I add them to the sheepulator and save.

I don't prepare myself beforehand though, as I find the time it takes me to find gifs etc for the answers provides the thread a nice pause for folks to interact and if I had everything prepared beforehand, it would just end up being a super quick reveal.

I do mine exactly the same way as Neo Big Grin
Have all the answers ready to go in the sheepulator and check them for any duplicates due to misspelling/errors
Then just run the reveal and find gifs etc during the game itself 🙂

It looks complex at the start but it is a  breeze after the first time, that is why I ended up in Sheeps Anonymous. Rolleyes
A handy trick that saves you having to correct mispelt answers by hand is to click and drag the wrongly spelt answers into the correctly spelt answer group.
Maybe it has been said alreadt but click on output., then copy player list, to get a list of the players entered so far, then you can paste it in your signup thread to show who is in so far.

Another small thing is to keep any pictures you are using in the reveal in the same folder as the saved sheep and save them as the question number so you don't mix them up.

Anyone know if it will run on a phone? Or if there's an app version?
