[Closed] Necro's Supermarket Sweep
Further details to follow....
So unlike the show this won't take place in a supermarket... well not exactly anyways.
In trying to keep it as true to the game as possible what I will be doing is posting a list of various items you would get in a supermarket. What you need to do is PM me a list of what you think the average price would be in Ireland.
If you get within 5 cents of the correct answer you score 5 points.
Within 10 cents and you earn yourself 2 points.
The top three players in the quiz portion will then go forward during the reveal to take part in a LIVE Trolley Dash (Details of which I will explain nearer the time) where they will be able to add to their total to determine the first ever winner of Necro's Supermarket Sweep.
Google etc will not be permitted for obvious reasons.

I feel like this a trick to catch out posh people, like the way the UK media always ask Tories how much a pint of milk is and they say "well, you could buy a spiffing cow for a farthing and milk it yourself. You could even sell the extra milk, so there's no need for us to pay you any benefit. Now, another bottle of bollinger on my account please"

What answer format would be the easiest way for you to calculate everything?
Prices only, pirces followed by question...?

Will be at a disadvantage here, going to have to double the prices.
Also, do they still sell butter by the pound?

The question there is is it supermarket own brand or a named brand. Big difference in prices
Suppose that goes for everything

In.
It is trickier than you think. Really you need to think of the price of the cheapest own brands and the most deluxe branded items and then try and meet somewhere in the middle.

Can you buy cheese by the kilo in a supermarket? 🤔😅 I love cheese, clearly I need to look harder so I can buy it in larger quantities 🤣
If you don't know, just accept the first answer on google...

Funnily enough that's exactly how they're calculated, even though I don't think I've ever seen a kilo of cheese.. if I had I would probably buy it like yourself Ari, I love me some cheese

Aye, you will usually see it on the price tag on the shelf.
The price of the goods and then under that the price per kilo.

Ah this makes more sense I was thinking about pricing smaller packages to make up a kg rather than looking at a price per kg, I'm clearly a bit slow
If you don't know, just accept the first answer on google...

Ah I would have been an expert on this back in the day when I worked on the supermarket checkout, although that was Superquinn so probably would be too high in all my guesses!

And now as I try answering... White rice? Do you mean long grain? Basmati? Jasmine? Risotto?
What does 1 apple weigh?
So many questions this is going to go terribly!

Right I gave this a go - I'm good at noticing when the pizza and beer I like is on offer, so I buy extra, but not much idea how much things cost generally 😅

Loads of time to enter @Spears I've only 7 entries so far so will hold off a little bit. Roll up, roll up!!

Inski!
You'd think considering I buy a lot of the items week in week out, that I'd have a better idea of the prices I'm paying.
Surprised by how much I struggled with knowing what I'm actually paying, nevermind guessing the correct answer for the game
