Like I said to EN in my PM, if you have to add bacon bits and other flavourings to something just to make it palatable, then it's probably not worth having in the first place.

Ha! Well, maybe, I wouldn't know, I can't cook. So I rely on things that taste nice on their own and don't need the addition of other stuff to make them palatable.

Objection Your Honor: Vague Tongue

I don't mind making bland food tasty with additional seasoning, but when it comes to using the seasoning to cover up the vomit flavour of sprouts that's a whole other story Wink pac

Isn't there actually a genetic element to how people taste sprouts? Or am I making that up? I know it exists for some foods like coriander and cucumber. But I think it applies to sprouts too.

Yes!! I'm so smrt! From https://www.sciencefocus.com/the-human-b...s-sprouts/

Quote:Surprisingly, it could be your genes that determine your feelings about these controversial little vegetables. A 2011 study by Cornwall College found that sprouts contain a chemical, similar to phenylthiocarbamide, which only tastes bitter to people who have a variation of a certain gene. The research found that around 50 per cent of the world’s population have a mutation on this gene. The lucky half don’t taste the bitterness usually associated with sprouts, and therefore like them a whole lot more than everyone else.

I must have that so. I detest pretty much all vegetables in chunky form! I eat them well hidden in stews and the like but not even very willingly then. I'd honestly be here for half an hour if I was to type all the veg I dont like and never ever ever eat.
