Just a quick update. I have added Sean Bean to the entrants as I discovered tonight I had Steve Carell and Steve Caell in the draw.

Sandra Oh v William Shatner - not even a fan really, but he is a legend, and something about Oh really annoys me in everything she's in.
Chris Pratt v Ava Gardner - sorry not to go old school here, but I've just preferred the Crisp Rat's movies.
Mandy Patinkin v Daniel Radcliffe - Patinkin is great, and if you disagree, then "prepare to die"!
Ryan O'Neal v Olivia de Havilland - classy lady who lived to a grand old age, and O'Neal is a dick.

last - Despite a late rally Sandra Oh heads for the final frontier instead of Captain Kirk. Chris Pratt beating Ava Gardner is bad enough but seriously if Ryan O'Neal had knocked out Olivia de Havilland I think I'd have taken my ball and gone home.  (wink here - cant put one due to picture limit!)

next - Another mix of classic actors and those not fit to tie their shoelaces. It's up to you to decide who's who.  (big grin here - cant put one due to picture limit!)
---------------------------------------------------
Results:
Sandra Oh 6 v 4 William Shatner
Chris Pratt 6 v 4 Ava Gardner
Mandy Patinkin 5 v 4 Daniel Radcliffe
Ryan O'Neal 2 v 4 Olivia de Havilland

Round 1 - Matches 109 - 112

Jim Broadbent - His role in Hot Fuzz (2007) was written specifically for him after he approached Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg at the BAFTA's in 2005 and asked if they would consider him for a role in their next film.

Karen Gillan convincingly beats Sally Hawkins but all the others could have gone either way.

One very tricky one to decide in the next set. Well it would be for me anyway.

Results:
Steve Carell 6 v 4 Max Von Sydow
Sean Penn 6 v 5 David Tennant
Sally Hawkins 2 v 8 Karen Gillan
Jon Hamm 4 v 6 Walter Matthau

Round 1 - Matches 121 - 124
Domhnall Gleeson - Has a degree in media arts from the Dublin Institute of Technology. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1727304/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

Mel Brooks - Claims the most flattering thing to happen to him during his long show business career was when Hedy Lamarr sued the producers of Blazing Saddles (1974) over the similar-sounding name of one of the lead characters ("Hedley Lamarr", who is mistakenly addressed as "Hedy", to his annoyance) because Brooks believes it is unusual for a "big name" actor to pay so much attention to such details. The suit was settled out of court. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000316/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

-----------------------------------------------------------

Laura Linney - Loves Meryl Streep. In The Truman Show (1998), her character was named Meryl and Laura was made up to look like her.

Kenneth Branagh - The last film he made with Emma Thompson was Much Ado About Nothing (1993). Their roles had previously been played in an earlier film by Robert Stephens and Maggie Smith, who were also a couple at the time.

------------------------------------------------------------
Gene Hackman - After initially turning down the role of Little Bill Daggett in Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven (1992), Hackman finally accepted it, as its different slant on the western interested him. For his performance he won the Oscar and Golden Globe and decided that he wasn't tired of westerns after all.

Bill Murray - He is a diehard Chicago Cubs fan. During the Cubs playoff run in 2003, he was on location in Italy, but he had it written into his contract that he'd get a satellite feed of the playoffs. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000195/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1

-----------------------------------------------------------
Reese Witherspoon -  She collects antique linens and is crazy about old embroidery.

Kit Harington - Used to work in a book store where he often had to lift heavy copies of the ''A Song Of Ice and Fire'' series and grew to dislike George RR Martin as a result.
