Am surprised the 50/50 left Delaware. They always say on the TV show that it's randomised, but too often it was always the two most likely answers (in my opinion) that were left.

I should have used my 50-50 lifelines 2 questions back (Amazon). I guessed correctly the answer for the last question (Gershwin), but I don't know if I would have banked it at that stage if I was still in it. If I had, I would have been having another punt - I guessed Montana like the majority of the audience!

US geography, i know most of the states names, but no idea of populations, not even sure of overall population of the usa.
a rough guess would be under a billion. i think rhode island is smallest state, which if correct is just a remnant of some quiz where i probably got it wrong.

I know nothing at all about soccer. I know obviously about Ialia 90, and Jack Charlton, and as a teenager had a major crush on Phil Babb and Jason McAteer. That's almost the full extent of my Irish soccer knowledge. Oh and whatever players are named in Joxer goes to Stuttgart Big Grin

But the session it ended when we'd finished all the stout
The air mattresses inflated and the sleeping bags rolled out
As one by one we fell asleep Joxer had a dream
He dreamt himself and Jack Charlton sat down to pick the team.

Joxer dreamt they both agreed on Packie Bonner straightaway
And that Moran, Whelan and McGrath were certainly to play
But tempers they began to rise and patience wearing thin
Jack wanted Cascarino but Joxer wanted Quinn.

The dream turned into a nightmare, Joxer stuck the head on Jack
Who wanted to bring Johnny Giles and Eamon Dunphy back
The cock crew in the morning, it crew both loud and shrill
Joxer woke up in his sleeping bag many miles from Arbour Hill.

I think I might post the next question also today as the weekend is approaching and I won't be around to post much

I remember the penalties well. It was the first tournament I ever watched, and USA '94 was the last. I couldn't tell you where any of the matches were held though.

@cee_jay Yes to Babb & McAteer (I don't think they debuted until '94 though) and Gary Kelly too - the three amigos, I think they were called.

The loss to Italy was in Rome I think.

Think we played in the group stages in against England in Cagliari.. not sure where the others were played

We also only lost 1 game over there, the game against Italy.

Drew the rest Big Grin

Listen to the live version, it's brilliant.

Actually, I'm not sure I've ever heard the studio version.
