The difference is that if a conversion occurred, then you may as well just stop using day 1 to village read any players. If you work using the assumption that a player was converted, it also means, that if you spent all day as a wolf village reading certain folk, well, now you don't have to stand by that and now you can attempt to banish your yesterdays village read, using the assumption of conversion as excuse for why you are now voting your village reads.
