Very impressive list. I'm jealous, that's the sort of diary I used to have! Kids and country living (and Dublin hotel prices!) have killed off my gig going at the moment.

The yungblud concert sounded class. I had half toyed with that but I don't know much about him, other than that he's going to win the Love Song round in FOG Factor

Still have a ticket for Aly & AJ too, that is supposed to get rescheduled at some point...
Don't have tickets yet for the following, but will likely buy one if they're still available or become available closer to the time...
James Blunt, Noah Cyrus, Travi The Native, SOAK, The Wannadies, Counting Crows, The Pretty Reckless, Fya Fox, Sigrid, The 502's, Wet Leg, Placebo, and I'm sure there'll be others that get announced or catch my attention at some stage.

I have Soak on my list too, just waiting to confirm what day of the week my German classes will be in autumn.
Also Placebo: I wasn't planning on it as I have seen them a few times already but I was very pleasantly surprised by the new album.

As Days Get Dark is my favourite album of the year, if you haven't listened to it you should give it a spin!

I'd forgotten what it's like to really feel music, literally and figuratively.
To feel the bass in your gut
To feel the layers of music wash over you
To feel the emotion of the lyrics
To feel everyone around you feeling the same
It was incredible, I've missed it so much without realising.
Whelan's was amazing
The crowd were amazing. I spent a while just looking at the crowd, watching people loving it
Arab Strap were amazing. Or maybe they were just a band I love performing decently. I'm not going to analyse it, I'm just going to love it. And look for my next gig...!
(incidentally, I'm sober! Had to drive home)

I honestly don't know how I'd forgotten. Even yesterday afternoon I wasn't sure about going (admittedly, having to drive into Dublin to go on my own, sober, isn't quite the same, but still) but I'm so glad I did. Like you say, being part of a good crowd at a good gig is probably the closest thing to religion for heathens like us!
Saw your post about Metric too, cheers for the heads up. It's the weekend between my birthday and my wife's and we normally try to go away but I'll see if we can bring that forward a weekend so I can make it

It was on my watchlist but my knee went again last week (decade old footie injury that flares up intermittently) so skipped it. Seen them loads, think the first time was after Hope... so must have been over 20yrs now, given this was 20yrs of The Remote Part!
