I got the Christmas tree for free last year - limited edition. I think it was a gift if spend over x amount - I was buying the Batwing. Himself looked the set up on ebay before I opened it on Sunday, they are going for £70 up to $135. I saw it on Amazon today for £135!

Himself got the Nutcracker under a similar limited edition free gift a couple of years ago, he never opened it in the hope it might appreciate in value. You can buy it for 10 quid so I got to open it this year

I love real Christmas trees , we always had one when we were growing up, often brought home on a push bike by our Da , before he got a Honda 50 , then a car , easier to transport then☺

Used to be a real tree when mine were small too , until we got the dog . Who loved trying to eat the tree . Or trying to climb into it . Artificial become a lifesaver ☺

Enough nostalgia for one night!

Very low percentage for real trees. Then again I don't know anyone who goes natural anymore, could the bulk of the real trees be being bought by shops and businesses to put in their receptions and offices I wonder. They always seem to have natural ones.

I love the idea of a real tree but all that effort with the shedding and the hassle of finding a decent one, I don't have the time to be dealing with it!

I read a couple of articles on this while looking up questions. Varying reports, but most seemed to say an artificial tree has a carbon footprint about 10x that of a locally sourced real tree. So you need to keep it for ten years to be winning the environmental argument

A real living tree with roots in a pot is probably the best for the environment. I’d nearly consider one of them.
