I voted for Soda Blonde at almost every stage. The only time I did not vote for her song was when she was up against my nomination of The Working Hour by Tears for Fears. It was about half and half with Brandon Flowers. His entry knocked out a few of my nominations. Both are enjoyable songs in their own right, but one undoubtedly has the edge for me. So my vote goes to:
Soda Blonde - Swimming Through The Night

Kudos to the person who nominated that song.

Thanks @Kol for taking up my idea, repackaging it somewhat and running with it! My idea was more about the Forgotten Gems, rather than what emerged here - the Hidden (or Unknown!) Gems. But it was very enjoyable nonetheless. Some very interesting songs came out of this including Soda Blonde's. @Rachel Stevens on a Pogo Stick- I must have another listen to the GOAT songs! My only regret was that more people did not take part at each stage. Who knows - we might have had a different combination of songs being voted through at each round.
I'll vote for...

Brandon Flowers - Magdalena

Its probably been the song that has left the biggest impression on me over the whole tournament
Thanks for running the tournament @Kol - great job as always
Brandon Flowers - Magdalena

Thanks for running this Kol
My nomination I believe so I'm sticking with Soda Blonde
Brandon Flowers - Magdalena for me please. Thanks for running Kol. Probably expected less obscure indie stuff than what was nominated for the most part but I enjoyed causing meltdowns to RSoaps in particular with my more mainstream hidden gem (imo) noms Tongue

Brandon Flowers - Magdalena wins FOGs greatest Hidden Gem Song

Never heard it before and wouldn't have been my choice to win but that's democracy for you!

I think a lack of interest in these tournaments along with low traffic on the site meant the turn our for this one was low. I might run the next one across both here and Boards to see how it goes.

As always, thanks everyone for playing and following, see you all next time

Are there many using boards these days? I've not checked back in there since the early days of the site changeover/mass exodus

There is no one on the games forum but the site in general is lively enough. I still follow some threads there so I would check in on a daily basis.
Some of the old regulars might still get alerts from the games forum and possibly new players could get involved. We're pretty much a closed site here when it comes to recruiting newbies
Thanks for the tournament @Kol and all the participates as I did discover some great new tunes

The last post in Forum Games was me advertising the werewolf game we had here a month or two ago.

Before that it was like 6 months with zero activity whatsoever.

Its a graveyard unfortunately.

The entertainment forums in Boards.ie are still very busy. I contribute to them particularly the Radio forum.
