Mixed bag today some songs I liked but are a bit predictable for this round, some that are just ok but not really worthy of a thanks and then one I have an irrational hatred for as a result of the song choice. There's also one I can't decide if it's good or not because the version posted is awful quality, presumably taken on a potato?

Petition to bring @Tauriel  back in the competition - every single song selection is a breath of fresh air!!!

In Competition:
very few songs I like today.
@Wichita Lineman  top spot for the fantastic use of congas throughout the song and especially in the intro.
@Rachel Stevens on a Pogo Stick - could have been top spot, but I am not too crazy about the "hard" male vocal part
@Neowise  - nothing exceptional, but decent enough.

No points for anything that includes "a man with his guitar" and minus points for that terrible Purple Rain cover 

I'm happy with whatever suits you @Kol

I'll have infinetly more time over the weekend than I had all this week.

Well I got an early bath last time for choosing safe and predictable songs so  I said I might as well mix it up a bit more this time.

Few goodies today. 

My favourite was @Rachel Stevens on a Pogo Stick followed by @DejaBoo and @ari101. Pity about the recording quality Ari. It was still a great cover. Shame you didn't get more votes.

Great songs @ShaneU and @Sephiroth_Dude too, but I didn't vote just because I'm in a new songs mood tonight.

Was in a bit of a grumpy mood while doing my listening today, so I may have been a tad stingy with my votes in this round. On the other hand it takes a lot for Covers to win me over and there were quite a few in the round that paled in comparison to the OG versions

The two standouts for me were @Sephiroth_Dude and @Wichita Lineman, familiar with both tracks, and have always loved them more than the original versions

Haven't had a chance to listen to the eliminated songs yet, but Soapy's was probably the best of the bunch from the actual game for me

Well I liked Aaron's entry  because it sounded more like The Pixies and not really like a cover song at all!

Out of them two, pixies gets thru on production quality alone.
The version of que sera sera is weak, as far as to say i don’t like it. The version on dead like me is the one id choose.
I like blinding lights, but this version was poor, but may only be recording quality that let it down, i can’t tell as the poor quality doesn’t allow me to tell. Maybe you were at the gig and remember it differently to what is actually recorded

Pretty good show, I'm not really a Pixies fan but I liked that cover. I would say though it grew on me after watching the shows intro a few times, wasn't gone on it first time so maybe folk needed more time with it. A risky pick, you'll be missed for sure Aaron.
