I am your host, Necro Winton and we are live here from our very own Supermarket in an undisclosed Sligo location




Tonight at 7pm we will see all the answers... or should I say guesses? No, that's too mean.

The answers to all the questions about prices! How well do you know your own shop?


Let's remind you all of those questions again....


1 litre of full fat milk
12 regular sized eggs
1 kg of white rice
1 loaf (circa 800g) of sliced white bread
1kg of apples
1kg of White Granulated Sugar
An 80 pack of Irish teabags
500g of Spaghetti
70cl of Whiskey
1kg of Grapes
2kg of Self-Raising White Flour
1 litre of Orange Juice
1lb of Butter
1kg of Sirloin Steak
2.5kg of Potatoes
1kg of Irish Cheddar Cheese
400g tin of Tomatoes
A jar of marmalade
1kg of Lamb's Liver
1kg of Smoked Salmon


For the benefit of those tuning in, our players were asked to guess the prices of the above items... some regular, some erm... not so regular.



The scoring (which has been altered since the inital sign up thread) will work as follows....

For every item you guessed the price of, if you guessed within 20 cents of the answer price you will score a big, fat FIVE POINTS!!
If you guessed within 40 cents of the answer price you will score 2 points
And... if you guessed within 50 cents of the answer price you will score 1 point.

The three players with the most scores after the 20 items have had their prices revealed will take part in the Live, totally not made up on the fly - Trolley Dash!!

More information on the Trolley Dash to follow - it's totally not being made up right now behind the scenes, no sirree

I will post the questions once the main part of the contest has concluded and the three players will have an hour to PM their answers with the answers posted on the thread.

Answers and indeed the first ever Supermarket Sweep winner will be announced once all answers have been submitted.

No, no, it's all Necros fault for making it too tricky!

In relation to my sources for the answers, I can post them after the game if necessary but doing so beforehand might spoil things if you're trying to keep track of how you did.

I'll post the answer for each question individually, then everyone's score for that question.

After every 5 questions I'll post a total score table...

I think nearly all of my other guesses either ended in 0 or 5, why did I try to get fancy for milk??
