Basically it's info gleaned from the Central Statistics Office from 2001 to 2018 and averages the price of items over the same period.

Why 2018 and not any later? Well, they haven't done a more recent study on grocery prices in Ireland, or certainly not one I could find that was as comprehensive....

Ah if I'd known I was shopping 4 years ago... I don't think it would have made any difference lol
