Welcome to the Song of the Year 2022 contest!

First thing to note, this thread is for everyone. If you didn't nominate a song but want to listen and judge then please do, the more the merrier!

Initially, we have four groups of five songs. I'll post these on the mornings of the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th. Your job is to send me scores for each song, out of five

I'm not too prescriptive on how you score them but, for consistency, aim for 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
However, if you can't separate some, feel free to give them the same score, and feel free to score zero if you want! And you can score your own songs

I won't announce the results until all the rounds are complete, then we'll go into knock outs. The top two from each group will start in the QFs. These rounds will be one day each, and you can vote on thread, like one of Kol's tournaments

Also, there's two days for each group, so you should have time. Then you'll have listened to them all before the knockouts anyway

There's a song there from Kenny Chesney that came off a 2020 album and was released as a single in March 2021 (the 2021 copyright that came up at the end of the video was the giveaway for me)

I was almost going to award that song three points, but now it will be an automatic zero

It's not a hard deadline though, if you don't see this until coming days I can take late votes, as long as they're in before the groups finish

TBF, the music video does say it was within the last year. 
Now obviously, as it's been pointed out, the song was released before the actual video was uploaded.

Whoever actually nominated should probably never admit it, such a grave crime it is, but they should certainly be embarrassed for not only themselves, but also their family for having the indignity of being related to the type of monster who would nominate such a "song"

Just quickly will say too that I really don't like the Taylor Swift song. Something doesn't work with that song.

It's like listening to a not great song & an annoying ring tone at the same time.

Like I don't know which part to focus on. 

It kinda gives me a headache, & makes me feel odd 😣.
