In a tightly contested final the winner of the FOG Academy Greatest Actor Ever on a 9-8 scoreline is
ALAN RICKMAN
Tom Hanks had a great run but just didnt get it over the line on final polling day.
Stats wise here's the breakdown on your voting booth activities. Of the 129 possible voting sessions:
@Rachel Stevens on a Pogo Stick attended an amazing 127,
@quickbeam an almost equally impressive 125,
@Zaph just behind on 120, with @Sawduck on 119,
@Necro & @nothing also made the 100+ club with 106 & 104,
@cee_jay 97, @ShaneU 95, @Kol 89, @jp liz v1 74, @Trigger 67, @Neowise 65, @Mam of 4 61, @ari101 52, @davetherave 40, @Edser 39, @Irish Aris 33, @Declan A Walsh 28, @DejaBoo 23 and both @Spears & @Diamonds of Frost voted just twice each.
Nice of Matt Damon to turn up for the reveal consider he wasnt included at all. Ooops!

Here are some of the picks from you all that might have been handed the title outright had there been no voting at all or if you just had to nominate one each. (Tom Hanks got 2 votes here also).
Robert De Niro, Paul Newman, Cary Grant, John Cusack, James Stewart, Dustin Hoffman, Steve McQueen, James Cagney and Leonardo Di Caprio. Not that you needed them named of course.
For what it's worth Cary Grant, James Stewart and Harrison Ford are among my favourite actors. Throw in Katharine Hepburn, Sandra Bullock & Marisa Tomei for a bit of gender balance.

On that note I'll close this off just by saying thanks to all who voted and I appreciated the comments on the hard work involved in this but as an actor I've heard about once said ....................
