Yep, it was a great start to the day choosing that playlist, put me in a great mood.
I'm so familiar with these songs so it's only every few months that I think to put them on.

Black Box song - I think I love watching the video as much as the song. So basic but that's one absolutely stunning woman! 😍😍

I'm my next life, I want to be her 🤞😋

Oh no 😱, look what I've gotten myself into. I've been sucked into the cheat-y music.

Any time I've seen the AI "duets" with famous singers I've refused to listen to them, don't care how good they might sound*.

But this happened accidentally. It was playing beside me and I fell for it before I noticed it was a cheater AI creation.

So, of course I've had to listen to it about 10 times to see if the feels will change.

Nope - I hate that I love you cheater/fake AI !! ❤️‍🩹

* Thought the recent Halsey/Amy Lee collab was a fake til I noticed it was Halsey's account that posted the song

Listening to some more & here's a softy if the previous was a bit too heavy for some ears.

I actually do like this song but I'm kinda conflicted.

If it were a human belting out his pain, I'd prob have a little quivering lip.
BUT, it's weird when it's a cheater song - it's essentially manufactured emotions.

Usually, for me, the feels happen in a nanosecond and the brain has a delayed reaction. But this time the feels are dormant and the brains on overdrive 🫤

It's like being drawn to an exotic looking flower. You walk over to smell it, but soon realise it's feckin plastic!

Maybe some things in life just shouldn't be made 😔

JupiterKid shared a newer Kosheen song a couple weeks ago over in the other place.

Reminded me about these two and I've been listening to them on repeat since ☺️

I don't like this.

But who knows, maybe the ghosts of echos I'm speaking to might like the quirky sqeek singing. It sqeeky and boring.

Wasn't keen on the later angle Paramore were taking with their music and if this is where Hayley is heading, then I think it's safe to say that Paramore as they were, will be a distant memory for us all 😔

Hayley's solo stuff is very unusual but I've enjoyed a few off the last solo album. That said it's all very... odd I guess. Glum is fine I suppose but not overly impressive on it's own. I must check out her other new stuff. I quite liked Trigger and Dead horse of one of her other albums.

As for paramore I adored After Laughter as an album, it's one of my favourite albums of all time. Pool being my absolute fave.

Also one of their best and possibly under appreciated tracks is Last Hope and this live version is delightful.

Well I know what I'm doing this weekend (besides doing a scheduled home deep clean) - listening to Paramore albums! 😏

I think it was "Hard Times" that had me loosing interest in them.
I'm just after looking there and I'm sure there was another that I really didn't like but I can't find it. They went too electronic or something and I just didn't take to their new style 🫤.

I definitely don't like that song above. I'll try have a listen to some of her other solo stuff but not feeling too hopeful based off that ^

What album and songs would you have as being the best proper Paramore? Curious to know as I do like a lot of their earlier stuff but After Laughter just caught me at the right time in life and I loved it.

@Gru

I’m terrible at remembering which songs belong to which albums—honestly, with every band, not just Paramore. I’m equally bad at remembering song titles, unless the name is really obvious and matches a catchy chorus 😆

What I do know is that I prefer their earlier music, and the later stuff just didn’t do it for me.

I’ll report back in over the weekend once I’ve had their albums playing in the background while I get through my chores 🎧🤓📝

Nearly forgot about this - @Gru

I don’t really have a favorite, there are songs I like from a few of their albums. But if I had to choose, I’d probably go with ''Brand New Eyes'' not just because of “Decode,” but also because it has a few other great songs I really enjoy.

For me, the ''Paramore'' album is where things with them started to go downhill. It feels like they were trying something softer, but there's just a weird mishmash of songs. There are some good songs though ''Ain’t It Fun'' and ''Still Into You'' are fun.

The' 'After Laughter'' album, that’s when they really went in a completely different direction than what I’d expect from them.
It’s not a bad collection of songs, but most of them irritate me for some reason, ''Hard Times '' included.

On the positive side - Hayley looks beautiful in the ''Rose-Colored Boy'' video, and ''Tell Me How'' is lovely song (though I can’t help thinking it would sound even better remixed into a 90's dance track Cool ). There’s a background instrument, some twinkly, toy-like sound that I can’t name, but it annoys me.

I think I might actually like ''After Laughter '' if it came from another band, but for Paramore, it feels like they’ve drifted too far from the sound I want from them. It’s almost like they/she doesn't quite know what they want to be anymore  Sad

From their newer stuff, I like ''The News'' from the ''This Is Why'' album.

As for Hayley’s solo work, I haven’t had the interest to dive into it yet after that previous shit song I posted, but I’ll probably give it a listen at some point - just so I can have another pointless moan  Big Grin

Thanks for posting your insights Spears, I agree their newer sound since after laughter is very very different to what the band used to produce.

I reckon it's Haileys taste/style that's changed because some of the solo stuff I've listened to is in a similar vain to way the band has gone in recent years.

I haven't the energy to check out all her new stuff but all in good time.

Thanks so much for taking the time Spears, I've not encountered many people who ever listen to paramore, at least not since I was a teenager so lovely to hear other insights into the band.
