Well done!

None for us, but trying again for the Saturday in a moment...

(I say us, my wife is planning on going with her sister and our daughter, it's not even for me and I'm stressed!)

Never paid as much money for tickets in my life pac

But wife is a huge fan so it'll be worth it!

Good man Necro, I heard it wasn't the easiest of things!!

I will try for Coldplay tickets next week, hopefully it won't be as difficult to get one. 🙂

I was told you couldn't get tickets unless you were a member of the fan club, and that the fan club has been closed to new members since last year.

How long have you been trying to get these tickets, and is there any hope for someone who just wants to buy tickets to a gig?

There were two pre sales, one was for those who bought her most recent album between certain dates in Sept/October 2022. That was last week.

Second one was where you had to sign up on her website within a timeframe. Can't remember exactly how long it was now. People from that got randomly selected to get presale codes for today.

I presume there will be a general sale but I'd imagine that a lot of tickets are already gone unfortunately. By the time I got through the queue there were only VIP package ones left and they are not cheap. But as it was a sort of... Must see for my wife I decided to buy them.

Taylor is selling much better this time around even with the price compared to last time

I suppose even half fans or less big fans going just to see a "big act" in Ireland plus Paramore supporting

I see Coldplay have Infinity tickets at €20, seems to be lucky dip tickets but not sure when on sale or how to access them

90 minutes on the ticketmaster queue for Coldplay started at 29000.
Thankfully they didn't go to waste, managed to get a standing ticket for Friday.
Third date announced as expected.

And fourth!

We're going Sunday. I wasn't too bothered myself, not a fan of big gigs, but my brother in law was going and my wife fancied it so I signed up too

This is the last time I saw Coldplay...

Is Slane really an option?
Springsteen works with Aiken promotions who I think they don't use Slane.

Have seen absolutely no mention of Bruce doing Slane. Joe.ie do say his first Irish gig was in Slane though in their article, that's the only mention I can find.

Classic Liz😂

It was social media posts suggesting Bruce as a possible for Slane where I saw

I didn't know Aiken connected artists don't do Slane anymore

So far this year I've seen Bruce Springsteen at RDS, Florence + the Machine at Musgrave Park and Lana Del Rey at 3Arena. Have a ticket for Kelela in the Academy on August 16th and for Soda Blonde in Vicar Street in December. Left it too late for PJ Harvey at the Olympia in September, both dates sold out faster than I expected.

Anyone here going to All Together Now this weekend? Lineup far better than Electric Picnic imo. I was very tempted but it was a lot of expense and not sure I'd enjoy it alone, and I'm too old/too fond of comfort to enjoy the bogstandard camping experience now!! I'd love to see Iggy Pop and fear this may have been last chance, also would love to see Lorde, Jessie Ware and Villagers (only the latter have I seen before, he/they are always great live.)

But as it turns out I've an early flight Monday morning so just as well I didn't fork out for ticket in the end.

I've been to a few gigs the last couple of months which contributed nicely to the 2023 list of great gigs.

The one that really impressed me (and if I'm honest I didn't expect it) was PJ Harvey. Phenomenal live performance, utilising the Olympia stage superbly. And she really is amazing on stage, her movements and expression is so natural and at the same time captivating to watch.

Thus renewed interest in her body of work, starting with her latest album that didn't catch me initially and my 2 favourite of hers, To Bring You My Love and Let England Shake.

That's a nice list @Homer J. Fong

Myself I have tickets for
The Rocky Horror Show at Bord Gais, 13 August
Rhiannon Giddens at National Concert Hall, 10 September
New Purple Celebration at Button Factory, 12 September
Foil, Arms & Hog at Vicar Street, 13 September
Tanita Tikaram at National Concert Hall, 10 November
David Byrne at 3Arena, 13 March (2026)

A few more I haven't bought tickets yet - including 3 of the Wider Than Pictures series at Collins Barracks (Wunderhorse, Sharon Van Etten, The Human League), which will be a last minute, weather dependent decision.

@Irish Aris was tempted by Sharon van Etten myself too but date didn't suit me, alas. Have seen her live before and she was great so I'm sure this show will be too, if you end up going.

A wonderful evening of music yesterday at the National Concert Hall with the ever reliable Rhiannon Giddens, accompanied by her long time collaborator Francesco Turrisi and Senegalese kora player and singer Seckou Keita.
A very different setlist from what she usually plays, this was mostly songs that allowed Keita's kora (it's an instrument similar to harp) to blend in seamlessly. Some traditional American roots/bluegrass tunes, a couple of songs from Keita's discography, a traditional Italian, and in the end The Cliffs of Moher.
