Hi gang!
I have an idea for a game, rather than overthink whether it will work, let's just do it!
Next week, Monday-Thursday
Sign-up here, I'll divide you into two teams (if we have an odd number I think I'll play too)
Each morning I'll give each team one sheep question. Simple.
Each day, each team will nominate one sheep rustler!
Their job is to steal points from the other team. Do do this, they will also give me an answer to the other team's question
The sheep rustler will earn one point for every person on the other team who gives the same answer.
Everyone else will score a point for their team if they're not rustled.... unless they ace
So you have to try to give a popular answer, as aces won't score. But the rustler will be aiming for the sheep. But will the rustler go for the obvious answer though? Or will they second guess you all avoiding it? But you're second guessing them doing that, so maybe you should go for the obvious answer... it's basically competitive heeps, I think
For example, if the question was name an Irish province...
Let's say the rustler goes goes for Leinster and the team's answers are:
4 Leinster (Alice, Bob, Carol, Dave)
3 Munster (Emma, Fred, Gemma)
2 Ulster (Harry, Ingrid)
1 Connacht (Jim)
The rustler would get 4pts, the team would get 5 (for the Munster and Ulster answers), and Jim is irrelevant!
I'll keep a running total. Most points after four questions wins
Nominating the rustler
- Anyone on the team may write "I nominate X to be our rustler today", including nominating yourself, and I'll acknowledge it
- No one may rustle twice
- Note that the rustler will be giving me two answers, one to each team's question (but it's fine to send them separately, so you can answer your team question straight away, no need to wait for who gets nominated)
I'll stick up questions soon after I start work at 9am and do the previous day's reveal at the same time. So everyone has 24hrs to answer, so hopefully everyone can play
I would openly encourage tactical talk on thread, but not direct answers. Everything must be in the open. You may google answers, but no discussing with teammates off-thread
Will it work? Who knows? Let's see!
