He's been in some good movies but Robert Redford is a giant of movies, I couldn't vote against him.

Personally, I didn't like Tombstone though, and haven't seen The Doors.

I'm surprised at Bryan Cranston and Ryan Gosling winning, not so much Nicole Kidman & Woody Harrelson.

All I can say is I'm glad I'm not betting on the outcomes of any of these. You just never know. Just noticed Mr & Mrs Matthew Broderick are both in this next one. Not against each other but could have been.
-----------------------------------------
Helen Mirren 5 v 8 Bryan Cranston
Woody Harrelson 10 v 4 Emma Stone
William Hurt 5 v 9 Ryan Gosling
Michelle Williams 5 v 9 Nicole Kidman
-----------------------------------------

Round 1 - Matches 153 - 156

Jodie Comer - She got the call to audition for Killing Eve (2018) while nursing a hangover, following a party night with friends at a music festival in Barcelona. Despite feeling that she had little chances, she took the 13-hour flight to Los Angeles anyway. After five minutes in reading with Sandra Oh, she landed the part.

[Image: 0_LEC_GJR_230621_VILANELLE.jpg][Image: 2kWTSphQhVAOwnHZIRyv_2016_12_19.jpg]

Sissy Spacek - According to her commentary on the DVD of Coal Miner's Daughter (1980), she initially aspired to be a singer and auditioned for Decca Records. The label liked her but told her she was too similar to another artist they had on their label. That artist was Loretta Lynn. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000651/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
------------------------------------------------------------------
Colin Farrell - His idol Al Pacino called him "the best actor of his generation."

[Image: colin-farrell.jpg?fit=620%2C375&ssl=1][Image: sjp-resize.jpg?resize=850%2C540&quality=75]
Sarah Jessica Parker - Attended the School for the Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) in Cincinnati with Rocky Carroll (Vance of NCIS).
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000572/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
----------------------------------------------------------------
Guy Pearce - [on playing roles with a different accent] I don't look at it as hiding my accent, I look at it as putting on another accent.
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001602/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
[Image: Leonard-Shelby-Memento-Guy-Pearce-a.jpg][Image: One-Two-Three.jpg]
James Cagney - Often left the set early claiming he was too ill to continue filming in order to ensure an extra day of filming so that the extras and the film crew, whom he thought woefully underpaid, could get an additional day's salary.
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000010/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gregory Peck - Marched with Martin Luther King.

Matthew Broderick - Quote - "I acquired fame by playing the coolest kid who ever lived. Now, the only roles I can seem to get are bleak, insecure men. I do find almost every character I play quite interesting, though."

1. Understandable given her age but disappointed to see Jodie Comer bow out already. Also stunned to see James Cagney eliminated at the first hurdle.

2. There's a good spread of eras covered. Who knows what way it will go. Not me anyway.

Results:
Jodie Comer 3 v 4 Sissy Spacek
Colin Farrell 6 v 2 Sarah Jessica Parker
Guy Pearce 4 v 3 James Cagney
Gregory Peck 7 v 1 Matthew Broderick

---------------------------------------------------
Round 1 - Matches 157 - 160

Andrew Scott - According to his podcast interview on Elizabeth Day's How to Fail, Scott flunked out of Trinity College Dublin his first year for too many absences, but did not know it and showed up the first day of his second year only to be told to go home.

[Image: fleabag-season-two-fleabag-2-20180914-d1...size=480:*][Image: image-w856.jpg?size=800x]
Katharine Ross - Always horse crazy as a youngster spending every possible minute with them. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001684/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
-------------------------------------------
Buster Keaton - Unlike many silent movie stars, Buster was eager to go into sound considering he had a fine baritone voice with no speech impediments and years of stage experience, so dialogue was not a problem.

[Image: Buster-Keaton-Go-West-1925.jpg][Image: Humphrey-Bogart-Feature-Photo.jpg]
Humphrey Bogart - Although usually considered a quiet and accommodating actor by most of his collaborators, he became disliked by William Holden and Billy Wilder during the filming of Sabrina (1954). https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000007/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
----------------------------------------------------
Emma Roberts - Has a phobia of flying.
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0731075/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
[Image: Emma-Roberts-Chanel-Scream-Queens.jpg][Image: diane-keaton-medium.jpg]
Diane Keaton - Among the things she treasures is a tile from James Stewart 's house, which she took when it was being demolished.
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000473/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
-----------------------------------------------------------
John Goodman -  Was the first guest on Late Night with Conan O'Brien (1993) when the show premiered on September 13, 1993.

[Image: lebowski.jpg][Image: Jude-Law.jpg]
Jude Law -  He was cast to play Clark Kent/Superman in a Batman vs Superman film in 2001 that was to be directed by Wolfgang Petersen and starred Colin Farrell as Bruce Wayne/Batman but it was never made.

Andrew Scott v Katharine Ross - tough choice. I do love Butch & Sundance, and The Graduate is iconic, and even recent work like Donnie Darko was good. But then, Scott is also so great.
Buster Keaton v Humphrey Bogart - an awful cruel round! I have to go for Keaton though for his stunt work and absolute genius.
Emma Roberts v Diane Keaton - la-de-da!
John Goodman v Jude Law - my spreadsheet has them neck and neck, but Law just in more films I've rated highly.

Although Jude Law has had some good roles I think the 4 best actors got through that time.

Can lightning strike twice or will this be a trickier round?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Results:

Andrew Scott 7 v 2 Katharine Ross
Buster Keaton 3 v 6 Humphrey Bogart
Emma Roberts 1 v 8 Diane Keaton
John Goodman 8 v 3 Jude Law
-----------------------------------------

Round 1 - Matches 161 - 164

Rachel McAdams - Her father, Lance, was a truck driver and her mother, Sandy, was a nurse. She has a younger sister, Kayleen McAdams, and a younger brother, Daniel.

Michael Keaton - Is an avid news junkie and at one point had considered a career in journalism. Has played a journalist in three films: The Paper (1994), Live from Baghdad (2002) and Spotlight (2015). https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000474/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lee Marvin - Was a direct descendant of Thomas Jefferson and twice a descendant of male line relatives of George Washington. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001511/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

Alan Rickman - For the shot where Hans Gruber falls from the top of the building in Die Hard (1988), he was actually dropped by a stuntman from a 20-foot high model onto an air bag. To get a genuine surprised look, the stuntman dropped him on the count of two instead of three. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000614/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
David Duchovny - Is a huge fan of Doctor Who (1963) and has expressed interest in appearing on the series as a villain. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000141/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
[Image: David-Duchovny-1.jpg][Image: CH-Staight-on-cropped-002.jpg]
Ciaran Hinds - Has played a Mossad agent in two movies - Munich (2005) and The Debt (2011). https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001354/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sam Neill - His vineyard is in the Gibbston Valley, Otago, New Zealand. His wine is a Pinot Noir called Two Paddocks. In S2/E3 of Killing Eve (2018), agent Carolyn Martens (Fiona Shaw) mentions this fact during a conversation with Konstantin (Kim Bodnia).

Michael Gambon - During an appearance on the BBC program "Top Gear", Gambon took part in the show's regular "Star in a Reasonably-Priced Car" segment. He went around the final corner of the track on two wheels, and, in honor of the feat, the corner has henceforth been dubbed "Gambon" by the show's hosts.
