I do like a bit of Sigur Rós from time to time but usually in small-ish doses. Musically they’re usually gorgeous but Jónsi’s trembling falsetto, technically impressive though it may be, is not always the easiest voice listen to. And it’s the same with this song – very moving and stirring melody (and, as is often the case with Sigur Rós, it’s the thrilling crescendo that’s the high point of the song) but the vocal makes it a little difficult to love. Still a good shout overall, though.
