The Fellowship of the Ring Werewolf

In the shadow-haunted hours of deep night, the last hobbit of the Fellowship could find no rest, his heart heavy with the day's grim sorrow. His restless feet led him through the village, where he came upon a sight that stole his breath: Samwise Gamgee, his truest friend, lay cold and still upon the stones.

And there, coiled upon Sam's lifeless breast, was the heavy, plain band of ill-fated gold: The One Ring.

A chilling wave of despair washed him. He had prayed this day would never dawn, yet now the terrible truth stood before him. The burden was now his.

With a trembling hand, he unclasped the broken chain and felt the cold weight of the world's peril settle into his own palm. He took the Ring.

If we only have one ring bearer left now, what happens if the wolves munch them? Is this where the corruption / possible recruitment could come in?

I think we're screwed royally if the last hobbit is killed 

Should the line of Ring-bearers be extinguished, the quest to destroy the One Ring fails, and with it, all hope for Middle-earth.
