The saying goes, catch a liar catch a wolf.. wolves are dishonest by the very role that they hold. Why would a villager lie? Or need to lie

i thought it was catch a wolf, kill a wolf.

numerous reasons....to protect someone else's role, to protect your role, bluff, double bluff, dreaded triple bluff, cause some chaos.

To be fair, and ive called you out a bit today,  I kinda agree that villagers can lie, or maybe its more concealing truth than lying. Wolves have near perfect info so if a villager can confuse a wolf that is good play
