Let's say I'm running a pickle collecting competition. The one who has the most pickles wins a fiver. I don't want to give anyone my fiver, so I'll do my best to make sure nobody wins.
If you've told me you've collected 3 pickles and Lilly has told me they've got 4 so far, and everyone else only has 1 or 2, I could drop a pickle on your doorstep to even the pots and declare a tie, so I get to keep my fiver.
If only one of you, or none of you told me explicitly how much you have, or if you all just said 'maybe I have between 2 and 6', then I don't have enough info to effectively fix the competition, and it's a bit of a shot on the dark whether I should drop a pickle on either of your doorsteps, or pick a completely different doorstep altogether. Fiver likely lost....

In that first scenario.. let's say you drop that pickle to create a tie, and everyone gets told afterwards you dropped that pickle to create a tie and keep your money. Who do you think will get the blame for the tie? And now let's say the contestants of the pickle collecting competition get to vote out a player next, who do you think they would vote for?
