In a tightly contested final the winner of the FOG Academy Greatest Actor Ever on a 9-8 scoreline is ALAN RICKMAN
Tom Hanks had a great run but just didnt get it over the line on final polling day.
Stats wise here's the breakdown on your voting booth activities. Of the 129 possible voting sessions: @Rachel Stevens on a Pogo Stick attended an amazing 127, @quickbeam an almost equally impressive 125, @Zaph just behind on 120, with @Sawduck on 119, @Necro & @nothing also made the 100+ club with 106 & 104,
Nice of Matt Damon to turn up for the reveal consider he wasnt included at all. Ooops! ============================================== Here are some of the picks from you all that might have been handed the title outright had there been no voting at all or if you just had to nominate one each. (Tom Hanks got 2 votes here also). Robert De Niro, Paul Newman, Cary Grant, John Cusack, James Stewart, Dustin Hoffman, Steve McQueen, James Cagney and Leonardo Di Caprio. Not that you needed them named of course.
For what it's worth Cary Grant, James Stewart and Harrison Ford are among my favourite actors. Throw in Katharine Hepburn, Sandra Bullock & Marisa Tomei for a bit of gender balance. =========================================
On that note I'll close this off just by saying thanks to all who voted and I appreciated the comments on the hard work involved in this but as an actor I've heard about once said ....................
"Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore."
Wichita Lineman, absolutely stellar job, take a break before you launch into mastermind, you deserve it! So so much work (and greatly appreciated)
I'm not sure if I was given the full 512 to choose from that I would have chosen Rickman, he would have ranked high enough with me, but I definitely wouldn't have bothered with Hanks, not a fan personally.
Rickman winning now means that not only is Die Hard the greatest Christmas Movie of all time with the greatest Christmas song of all time in it's soundtrack, but it now has the greatest actor of all time in the cast.
Meaning Die Hard is truly the greatest movie the world has ever seen. All hail Die Hard
