If you don't know the score - there's six categories below, PM a song for each. I'll listen to, and rank them all, and you'll all agree with my scoring and say I have excellent taste

I want new music. I really do. If you pick a good song I don't know it'll beat my favourite song. Probably
I want new genres, new bands, stuff I wouldn't normally listen to. So don't worry about what you think I like, please pick stuff you like that you think deserves a wider audience. And that doesn't mean it has to be obscure, for example I know next to no chart music these days. I don't know much dance, rap, RnB, country...

I thought it might be nice for the reveal to have a little "They said", "I thought" so if you want to, add a couple of lines about why you picked a song and I might add it in to the reveal, if you don't mind (let me know)

OK, here's my six categories, hope they inspire you!

1. Simple
   A lot of the music I listen to is busy, I’ve had a lot of walrus comments about my picks having too much going on. In general though, if a band don’t throw the kitchen sink at it, I feel there’s a kitchen sink size hole left! So prove me wrong – give me a song with a really simple arrangement. No rules, but I’m imagining a singer and just a guitar or piano, that sort of thing
   
   
2. Title Track
   If a band think a song is good enough to name the entire album after it, it must be good right? Just send me the title track from an album, simple as that
   
   
3. Bootleg Beatles
   I recently read that The Beatles are the most covered band ever. Not sure it’s true, but it sounds very plausible. I've also never really got into the Beatles, in some ways their songs are so omnipresent I never choose to listen to them, but I do like hearing alternative takes on them. So send me another band or artist covering a Beatles Song
   
   
4. Bond, James Bond. Only Not
   I think that James Bond theme songs all have a particular style to them. A certain flair and dirty glamour that's in their shared DNA. Give me a song that sounds like it could be a James Bond theme song, but isn’t
   
   
5. Shoutout to the DJ!
   Hey Mr… Superstar DJs… got this party started, there’s no end in sight.
   I don’t know why but I like songs that call out the DJ, so give a song that does that please. I'm imagining this may be a pop and dance round, which wouldn't be my usual sort of thing, but take it anywhere you want
   
   
6. The Big Finish
   There’s particular places for particular songs on albums. They have to draw you in at the start, get the big hits in early, and they have to leave you wanting more at the end. I love closing tracks, I think there’s something special about them. The long, epic finish or the quirky little oddball. Whatever style you want, give me the final song on an album to close our walrus

Making decent progress, will probably start the reveal next week. Have listened to everything now, got rough notes on about ¾ of them, and have written up two rounds

True to my word, someone entered a great song by one of my very favourite bands, and it's coming 7th out of 14 in its round. Even I'm surprised!
