The way it works in Olympics would be if there was a tie for Gold, 2 gold medals would be given and then a Bronze, bypassing the Silver medal. Likewise with 2 second places, a gold and 2 silver would be given with no bronze.

You're right nothing. I was looking up the joint gold medallists in Tokyo and there was no silver medal presented: the next guy got a bronze.
