TV Quiz Shows and Game Shows - Declan A Walsh - 08-08-2025

As these are the inspirations for many of the games on this forum and elsewhere, it makes sense to have a thread dedicated to tv quiz shows and game shows. Anything related could be discussed here.

Genius games was a fun watch. Many of the games play could be adapted.

Yeah that was great - can't believe that it got official complaints from the public because "it made them feel stupid"...

If you liked Genius Game though @Neowise you should definitely check out The Devil's Plan on Netflix. It's from the South Korean creator that Genius Game was based on. It's very complex, but a great watch if you like gameshows that really make you think.

I've just started episode 4 at the moment, and loving it so far.
I don't have netflix, I aimed to buy it for this and the eng dubbing, but just started it anyway with only the english subs, and it's great.
Can be slow going with the subs, so might eventually figure out how to get netflix over the weekend and get the english dubs.
There is a new season two too, so will get good use out of the netflix subscription.

Glad you're liking it. I watched with the subtitles and found it mostly fine, trying to wrap your head around the game rules while reading subtitles was a bit of a brain wreck, but aside from that I had no issue following along with just the subs... That said, I am used to watching a lot of subtitled shows and films, so I know if its not something you're used to, dubbing can be far handier.

Thanks for The Devil's Plan recommendation @RSOAPS
Binged watched the first 6 episodes of season 1. Very addictive, well produced, and the drama kept in "normal" levels.
Watching it with the original Korean audio, not a fan of dubbing.
