RE: Country Walrus - Kol - 07-06-2022

Depends, are you going to rank countries or music from different countries.

I'm up for it, been awhile since we've had a walrus.

I assumed it was country music Tongue

@Kol   even Bon Jovi dabbled

RE: Country Music Walrus - Kol - 07-06-2022

Yeah that Bon Jovi country era didn't go down too well in our house.

Ah sure look, if you build it I'll give it a go.

I would be. About time I start back into signing up for games now that work isn't as hectic.

RE: Country Music Walrus - Spears - 07-06-2022

I could try it out @jp liz v1 but it will have to be over the weekend because I haven't a clue, and it will take A LOT of time for me to research songs

RE: Country Music Walrus - Zaph - 07-06-2022

Sorry Liz, don't know enough about country to be able to offer anything for a walrus.

RE: Country Music Walrus - Necro - 07-06-2022

I'll play. I crash and burn in the normal music related games so maybe country will be luckier for me.

RE: Country Music Walrus - Jluv - 09-06-2022

Haven't played a walrus before but I'll give it a go...

You might do well Butty if I play, because I'll probably do as good in this game as I'd do in a Yodelling walrus  Sad

Nah, I think Garth Brooks is one of the reasons people who've not listened to much Country don't give Country Music a chance, so on principal I just couldn't. He's essentially a glorified pub singer who got lucky and made it to the big leagues, which doesn't mean people can't or shouldn't enjoy his music, but not a musician worth celebrating in my opinion...

RE: Country Music Walrus - jp liz v1 - 09-06-2022

Yes a lot of good undiscovered low key country artists, Brooks is a big name as he was one who crossed over and made it big like Shania Twain and Taylor Swift but Johnny Cash was as big as Elvis at one time before all of them

No probs @Rachel Stevens on a Pogo Stick I do get your Brooks issue, marmite

I do like The Shires which I think you introduced me from a previous walrus entry

Ah look, I'll probably cave in and end up entering anyway, I'll try and find a creative workaround for that problematic category, I just needed to have my thoughts on Brooks on the record... pac

RE: Country Music Walrus - DejaBoo - 09-06-2022

Rach, maybe instead of focusing on Garth as entertainer, find one of his song someone else did better (it's not hard to do!)

I've not been to see him in concert, but given the amount of pyrotechnics Sir Brooks employs to "entertain," I assume his performances are more smoke and mirrors, rather than substance. Garth makes it hard for people to enjoy his music - I am not really familar with much of Garths music since he always refused to share his music on youtube, citing snobbish artistic licence about his audience must properly listen to his whole album or nothing (so, nothing it is, no bother at all!) ...and selfish greed about youtube not giving him enough (like he is dirt poor and can't afford to share with fans, lol). ....That ego of his, like he single handedly created country music for the masses, just no.

I'm actually really just glad someone else round these parts gets where I'm coming from... You've roped me back in Deja.

Will we have a couple of days to get entries in for this Liz? I'm off to the Yungblud gig tomorrow and then have my nephew's christening on Saturday, so may not have a chance to make selections until Sunday at the earliest...

RE: Country Music Walrus - RSOAPS - 09-06-2022

By the way Liz, you should edit the categories into your OP... Will make it easier to get people to play...

RE: Country Music Walrus - jp liz v1 - 09-06-2022

I will keep open for a week or so, no rush

Enjoy @Rachel Stevens on a Pogo Stick

I'm looking forward to it alright... It's the 23d gig I'll have gone to this year (living my best life with all the gigs these days pac ) and 23 is my lucky number, so I'm hoping that means it'll be the best one yet, and they've all been great so far...

I'll be throwing some pics of it up on my Instagram afterwards, as posting pics from gigs is pretty much all I use Instagram for these days, if anyone is interested in following my gig going adventures... www.instagram.com/cian.taaffe/

It was absolutely unreal, quite possibly may have been my favourite gig of all time, Yungblud was superb as expected, but the energy and craic and respect from the crowd elevated it to a completely different level.

That's bittersweet for me to hear  Big Grin

I'm delighted to hear you had such a good night Shy .

I wouldn't have expected anything less from them. They are a fantastic band.

But your description of the night- well it doesn't get much better than that does it!
