Happy Little Christmas to you too Liz , and everyone.

RE: The Foggies Christmas thread - Butty Brennan - 06-01-2022

Do you have a set date to take down your tree every year or is it just whenever you can get the time to do it?
I was researching and there are numerous dates when people say the Christmas season ends. Some even say you can leave it up until Candlemass which is the 2nd of February. Huh

I think some say bad luck before 6th January but ours came down 3rd January, I know some who leave up until mid end January

Just because there's a lot of them and it takes time to pack everything away, we'll usually take ours down the weekend nearest the 6th, it's not an after work job.  But if, like this year, they're not coming down until after the 6th, we'll leave the lights off after today.

Dyslexic me read that...
Read it again...
Checked who really posted it...

Is this a common problem ?  I mean, shouldn't there be a warning on the box ?  Can you return any extra babies to the shop ?

I wish to apologize to Mo4 for some pretty strange ideas due to misreading.

6 Jan is epiphany.  Major holiday here, more or less everything shut ( even the money grubbing foreigners - read Carrefour & Lidl )  buses on Christmas Day schedule.  I was brought up that today is the day to take down The Tree and generally disassemble Christmas.

RE: The Foggies Christmas thread - nothing - 06-01-2022

Didn't put any up, don't need to take any down Smile

It really would be a Christmas Miracle  if there were babies on the tree and they multiplied ☺
Everything is now back up in the attic for another year .
(No doubt tomorrow I will find a few bits that somehow escaped their banishment for the next twelve months )
