I was looking forward to seeing Keaton play Batman again.  Sad

Apparently Affleck is replacing Keaton as Batman in Aquaman

I thought Netflix or Disney might air BatGirl, waste of a film

I think HBO Max were streaming WB movies, but I think the deal ends this year.

Affleck is back like a bad penny after saying he was finished with Batman.  Dodgy Give Keaton a turn. The franchise has survived some real turkeys so this film must be an absolute stinker if they think it can kill off the series. I hope it gets leaked, I'm curious to see if maybe it is so bad that it's good.

Bullet Train is highly enjoyable, good cameos too, I think the characters played by Brian Tyree Henry and Aaron Taylor Johnson deserve a spin off, Brad Pitt is great at comedy

RIP Olivia Newton John aka Sandy from Grease

RE: Lights, Camera, Action! - Kol - 07-09-2022

Well I've finally turned to the dark side. Hear me out though, it's not all that bad.

I found myself home alone for a week last month. I dusted off my projector and fired up Disney + Wanted to watch a bit of action and something caught my eye, the Star Wars icon. Now, anyone who knows me will know I'm far from a Star Wars fan and have only ever seen one movie, which was nominated in one of my movie walruses.
So I decided to stick on The Phantom Menace to see what all the fuss was about. If I was going to continue I wanted to start at the beginning. Eleven movies later and I'm a fan.

Now I know long time fans will place the original trilogy top of the list but I thought the prequels were really good, maybe not so much the first movie. The sequel trilogy were my least favorite though still pretty good. Solo and Rogue One were also pretty good.

Looks like Star Wars have found themselves another fan, I never thought I would say that. Looking forward to catching some of the series also.

TL/DR

If you find yourself home alone for a week and have a projector lying around, leave it be, get yourself outside and enjoy the fresh air.

Marvel’s bad guys and anti-heroes are getting the closeup in Thunderbolts, which revealed its cast at D23.

The super-team movie will star Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Wyatt Russell (US Agent), Hannah John Kamen (Ghost), Olga Kurylenko (Taskmaster) and Julia Louis Dreyfus (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine). TV vet Jake Schreier is directing the film.

Been a while since I've seen Ed Norton pop up in anything. Wonder if they can come close to the first, that was a great cast.

I actually found it rather sad.
A great film nevertheless, probably McDonagh's best... though I am a big fan of his work even back from his theater days, so not very objective.

RE: Lights, Camera, Action! - jp liz v1 - 23-10-2022

The reviews are positive, even Oscar buzz worthy

RE: Lights, Camera, Action! - jp liz v1 - 01-11-2022

Farrell's expressions were excellent, himself and Keoghan were outstanding in their roles, it's worthy of the praise imho and hope the Oscars do take it in to consideration especially for McDonagh, Farrell and Keoghan

RE: Lights, Camera, Action! - ari101 - 01-11-2022

I think Keoghan took it for me, but there were some fabulous performances. Definitely worth a watch.

RE: Lights, Camera, Action! - Neowise - 04-12-2022

Watching the expanse currently.
It has really shown me how much learning rocket science and orbital mechanics can make you critical of space tv.
Like, they try, but it could be done much better. But, somebody must have said, doing burns in the right way would look weird or something, its better for tv if we burn in this direction.

Its been a nice binger so far though. Not sure how much more I've got to look forward to, just starting season 5 now.

RE: Lights, Camera, Action! - RSOAPS - 01-01-2023

Watched feck all films in 2022, so for 2023 I aspire to watch more

Started off after midnight last night with The Banshees Of Inisherin, having heard polar opposite reviews from family members over the holidays (some loved it, some hated it), so wasn't sure what to expect...

On first viewing, it might just be one of my favourite films of all-time, absolutely superb, will definitely be re-watching that every few years, and naturally I'll be disowning all the family members who didn't like it

RE: Lights, Camera, Action! - jp liz v1 - 05-01-2023

It is film of the year 2022 for me, it represents rural Ireland well, the loneliness, the friendships, music, animals, local pub socialising etc., top class acting performances by all involved, it is now streaming on Disney +

Amazed and delighted to see Everything Everywhere All At Once leading on 11

At the start it's one of the most confused, obtuse and impenetrable things I've ever seen. Could not get my head round it for the first hour or so, but the ending is so satisfying, so unique. I absolutely loved it
