I was wondering, if a player submitted a cover and you knew the original song but not their version, would that count as you knowing the cover?

That's a good question, and my answer would be, if the cover is new to me, I would count that (version of the) song as new to me, so in terms of the game, its new

I would add to that by saying, if I know the original well, it could likely be a case of familiarity breeding contempt though, so even though it wouldn't get an automatic zero, when it comes to ranking I'd probably be inclined to favouring something that's completely new to me over a new cover of a song I knew the original or a different version of, so might be something worth bearing in mind

Not been around, but glad I stumbled upon this in time. So will probably get an entry in, though might be hard remembering what I've entered to other walruses, and yours especially!

Whoop! Wouldn't be the same without ya!

Fun Fact: If I remember correctly, up until just before the site migration from boards (back when I was tracking all the Walrus stats), @osh was the only person who had competed in every consecutive music Walrus since the very first one premiered on boards. A couple of other people that are still about and regular participants had been present for the very first one, but missed one or two along the way, and others joined in early enough on and haven't missed a single one since, but for a time osh was the only person with perfect attendance from Game 1

Fun Fact 2: Since we're talking stats, I still hold the record for most wins. I stopped counting after I hit double digits, and that was back when I was still using my LeVar handle, but I've had more than a few wins as RSOAPS since then  Tongue

Will be closing this up tomorrow, if there are any last minute entrants wanting to get some songs in to me. Or if anyone wants to make any changes to what they've submitted, lock it in by tomorrow as I won't be accepting changes after that point

Following the closing of the sign ups, I'll be aiming to do reveals each Monday evening from February 20th to March 13th, provided nothing unforeseen comes up

Will still accept entries or changes until about lunchtime tomorrow (basically until I do my first Official listen of Round 1 at some point tomorrow afternoon, but I have given everything a listen as it was submitted, just in case I heard anything you all submitted in the interim), but for all intents and purposes this sign-up is now closed for business
