I actually thought Ed Sheeran too, but Shivers.

Is that your guess?

Nah it's not Shivers, I actually consider that one of Sheeran's better tracks

I was gonna say you were in the ballpark, bit now that I think of it, I think Shivers came out in 2021, so you're in the wrong year  Tongue

I probably wouldn't consider it a masterpiece, & I may not be still tapping my foot to it in 6months time, but for now I do like that song.

& Eiffel Tower was a great tune in its day 👌

I don't want to overload it, as you'll all have to be listening and judging the nominations once I compile them, but if you just can't narrow it down to one I'll accept two Smile

Was gonna give people a bit longer before opening to second guesses, but I've de-railed @E.N.'s thread long enough, and this song has made me see red

It is the worst piece of crap ever written and recorded, it's Baby Shark for grown-ups, and I don't understand why people have listened to this shit so much that its sat in the Top 10 for months this year

It makes me want to punch someone anytime I hear it

Congrats @Butty Brennan, you've guessed correctly and have won the prize of being dead to me now, see you in hell   Tongue

Now we have to ask ourselves, has anyone submitted that? Would they admit it if they had? Would I at least it to the list if no one has, just for a laugh? Do other people agree with you, or does everyone love it?

No one with any taste or decency or ears on their head should have submitted that

If they did they shouldn't admit it for fear of being ridiculed for all of eternity

Adding this cesspit of a song from the Michael Bubblé of Summer is no laughing matter, and should be considered a crime against humanity if its added even for a laugh

If anyone loves this song, they are legally considered (I have conferred with a lawyer on this) a Moron

RE: FOG's Song Of The Year 2022 - ShaneU - 01-12-2022

It better not be Easy on Me by Adele because that's a great song

My guess is George Ezra Green Green Grass. I see how people could find it annoying but I don't mind it

RE: FOG's Song Of The Year 2022 - Homer J. Fong - 01-12-2022

I liked George Ezra when he first came out, first album had some decent songs. But yeah, that one is pretty bad tbf. It's actually my first time hearing it, which shows how much attention I've been paying to the charts this year!

Sorry, I know your kids like it, I should clarify, anyone over the age of 12 who likes it is a Moron

Children are allowed to like stupid songs, they don't know any better yet

Don't put this awful song in the mix as a joke though, someone being cretinous enough to nominate it is one thing, but you tacking it on for the craic is just cruel

Haven't heard it either - but then again I've never been a fan of George Ezra, I could only place that Budapest song from a few years back.

Big Grin brilliant, well done @Butty Brennan I was dying to know which song it was.

Not a great song. It's one of those songs that is there in the backround, but I don't actually pay enough attention to it. Even to be bothered by it.
It's just kinda meh.

RE: FOG's Song Of The Year 2022 - E.N. - 15-12-2022

Still open for nominations

Haven't looked through all the messages yet (the advent calendar is enough work Tongue) but I have entries from...

Butty
Spears
jluv
aaron
Homer
Necro
Shane
Edser
Hello 2D
Aris
Kol
Soapy
ari
Liz
Deja

If you sent me one and aren't on that list would you mind resending it?
My PM inbox was full so I had to delete loads of advent calendar entries. I don't think I deleted any song entries but there is a danger

Sub-folders were the only way I could keep things straight when I hosted on Boards, especially with a limited inbox  for regular users.

Another  vital feature (and data) wiped out by Vanilla, I don't know how admins, mods or hosts keep anything  organised there now.

Here, not only did I not realise you could make sub-folders here, 15+ years on boards and I never realised it there either. To be honest the only reason I know you can create sub-folders in gmail was because I went to work somewhere where they had a a billion sub-categories and it annoyed the shit out of me so much I quit again not long after.  pac

All you need is Inbox, Sent and honestly I'm undecided on Drafts but lean towards unnecessary (just write the bloody thing or don't, I don't want to circle back to this shit later). Trash can get fucked too - I've already deleted the thing, why do I need to delete it again. Spam serves a purpose, so I give it a pass.  Tongue

To be fair if I'm hosting a game, I transfer everything I need over to Excel, Word, Sheepulator as they come in, so maybe I'm in fact just better organised than the rest of you.  Wink

RE: FOG's Song Of The Year 2022 - Kol - 15-12-2022

I never thought about creating subfolders even though they are everywhere in my daily work. TBF, you can only hold 100 messages here, at least thats all I can, and unless you are working with a half dozen different topics there is really little need for them. You can always download the messages if needed.
As Soapy says, keep on top of everything as they come in and delete the fucker right away.

RE: FOG's Song Of The Year 2022 - Necro - 15-12-2022

Boards PM space was a nightmare until you became a mod then you had so much space you'd genuinely forget about deleting anything 😂😂 one of the only real perks of the job tbh. That, and no ads (yeah I know AdBlock blah blah blah).

Oh yeah and the coke and hookers.

lol, I can recall a time when it felt like I was dealing with several topics at once, but I didn't think to download any messages (even with game hosting), just used the boards subfolders, worked well enough, until the inbox overflowed that is  Rolleyes (silly me!)

As a mod, like Necro mentioned,  the unlimited inbox is important and having the capacity to sort into sub folders was a necessity (atleast for my unorganized mind - msp, modpms, social group, etc)... As a mod, I really would not have been comfortable downloading anyones pms to my personal server (seems rather a breach of trust). I left them in tidy sub-folders to 'refer back'  if needed, for whatever reason.

As a regular poster, I was used to deleting pms after replying, but that was  one (of the many, lol) mistakes I made as mod. Having the actual pms to refer back to is  (kind of) a boards requirement,  if ever a spot of trouble arises.

I should've thought of downloading some (of my fave) pms pre-vanilla, but didn't know the subfolder data would be wiped out at the transition... There was (kind of an important one) I was looking for last week, but couldn't locate.......dayum vanilla anyway. Rolleyes
