RE: The FOG Factor - Series 4 - Live Show - Spears - 19-06-2023

Pleasant enough round so gave all a vote.

@Jluv was my fave as I really like tjst song. Considered submitting it but Beyonce herself annoys the heck out of me so I had to pass on her.

@E.N. gets credit for a song I didn't know 👍

It was actually a hard category because even though I do like some of his songs, none of them are showstoppers. So it was just a case of 'ah it'll do'.

I hope you enjoyed the round @jp liz v1 that's all thst matters  😊

Big Grin Big Grin

Sooooorry.

It's a bit on the boring side at this stage but I thought she was amazing back in the day.
Had her album & loved it.
Wish she'd bring out more music so I could force Rsoaps to listen to her more often  Tongue

Over to our judges, please tell who you want to send home and your reason why

@RSOAPS @nothing @Kol

RE: The FOG Factor - Series 4 - Live Show - nothing - 19-06-2023

It's @E.N. for me, I'm afraid. Was the only of the 4 songs that I didn't enjoy. Sorry

RE: The FOG Factor - Series 4 - Live Show - RSOAPS - 19-06-2023

Will keep it simple, was surprised from the entry from @E.N. being so good because I wasn't expecting much from the round, and on the other Bleeding Love is just one of those songs that I find particularly irritating so my vote is to send @Spears home tonight

RE: The FOG Factor - Series 4 - Live Show - Kol - 19-06-2023

I enjoyed this round much better than the previous one. ENs pick was too bluesy, soul, r&b or whatever that genre is for me, not a fan, you might say he was out of touch Wink

I really like Leona, fantastic voice, good record. An easy choice for me tonight, I gotta send @E.N. home. Ironic you missed out on the song that could eliminate you.

RE: The FOG Factor - Series 4 - Live Show - RSOAPS - 19-06-2023

Sorry to see you go @E.N. - considering how you had my favourite song in nearly every round and consistently ended up in the bottom two, only furthers my belief that democracy doesn't work in these games... And to be knocked out by Bleeding Love only proves judges can't be trusted either...

RE: The FOG Factor - Series 4 - Live Show - Kol - 19-06-2023

Going home tonight is @E.N. Your survival skills were a highlight of the series, well done and thanks for playing, hope you stick around.

To play us out is John Oates

Ah okay, I'm just gonna nod and smile and pretend to know exactly what that is... pac

The examples help, but the description sounds like vague buzzwords that don't really mean anything to me... I would still struggle to know what that is as a genre exactly and how it really differs from Rock in general... Is it essentially just late '70s and '80s Rock? Is there modern AOR bands? Would the likes of Muse be considered AOR for example? And it No, why not (because Muse are a rock band who album orientated, melodoic, and play Arenas)

Yes there are modern aor bands but they follow the same kind of sound they 70s, 80s aor bands did.  Muse imo would more prog, alternative rock where it is more experimental, doesb't really follow a defined structure in there songs. Aor is more structured, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge..etc and has a friendly sound with keyboards and guitars and vocal heavy

@Declan A Walsh would probably be the man to explain it better.

Do or Can the LL drunks give submissions to all of these too?

RE: The FOG Factor - Series 4 - Live Show - Spears - 19-06-2023

Few years ago I would have hated (x10) a musicals round. I could never sit through one of them until The Greatest Showman. That movie had some fantastic songs. (Still can't do Mama Mia)

There's one other musical I watched and enjoyed so I went witht that.

I chose something a little different than what I think a typical musical song sounds like.

It's my take on bringing musicals into the 21st century, which would make them more tolerable, to me anyway.

After trying to find a musical song I like all I can say is...

Ryan Tedder all is forgiven

AOR also stands for Adult-Oriented Rock. It is essentially radio-friendly mainstream rock with high production values. A lot of American acts of the 1970s and 1980s fall into that style. It doesn't have to be album oriented but can be. Some of it also overlaps with classic rock. Adult-Oriented Rock is also known as Soft Rock.

Funny enough, I'm slightly disappointed there was no Country round in the game at all

Someone was going to but then decided not as they noticed it is in every game. I'm glad I let you guys choose the categories, I would have had the usual 90s, 80s, rock and pop shtick and probably revisited the Rod Stewart round.
