Tough call actually, having listened to them both again there a few minutes ago, I actually really enjoyed them far more than I remembered from yesterday.

To be a tad nitpicky, the full choir singing in @Spears' entry is a bit out of place for an "instrumental" round, even though it's a very minor part towards the climax of the piece. As I mentioned yesterday, I really like ASIWYFA, but this was a far cry from their best so @Sephiroth_Dude's entry disappointed me slightly. Gun to my head, I'm more likely to sit down and listen to Seph's entry again, whereas I wouldn't seek out Spears' piece...

So for that reason, my vote is to send @Spears home tonight...

This was a poor round, I'm not a fan of instrumentals though I do like a bit of classical music. Movie scores can be good also and I suppose Spears was kinda in the area. I do love the sound of guitars but not as instrumental. I'm going to have to send @Sephiroth_Dude  home tonight. It's rounds like this that makes one appreciate Ryan Tedder

I'll put my hand up and say that I am a big fan of OneRepublic - especially the first 3 albums.
2 of their songs would have been absolute cheat codes. . . one of them got me though a tough time in my life.

Though in the legend's lounge I decided to share something else, which I didn't even know he had co-wrote and really like.

Stone Cold Love was a pleasant surprise and new discovery in an otherwise overly saccharine and almost unbearable round - through no fault of the contestants obviously, you had to make the best of a bad situation.

Burn is also a tune, probably one of only a handful of songs I spotted on the Ryan Tedder discography the other day that I actually like.

Ah yeah, I said before that it was kind of personal. My best mate's band used to do a cover of it, so it's a bit nostalgic for me. Though I'll maintain it's very high on the list of what I listened to, just that that says more about the list than the song 🤣

Shane had the best song of the Final 4 for me. Would have preferred the studio version over the acoustic, but still a great choice nonetheless

Was a bit the same this round too. Although there were a few songs I do like, none were showstoppers & I gave up after finding on that I felt 'will do'  Smile

A question for both players and the audience. Would picking 5 songs for the final be too much? You would be given 5 categories. Otherwise we will go with the usual 3 songs each. I would like to get the game finished on Friday so don't want to give more time to picking and listening and I don't want to pressure folk either. Let me know your opinion

I think 5 songs with different themes will make it more interesting and more helpful when voting for the winner, offer a bit more wiggle room and nuance for deciding who gets the crown than with just the 3 songs from previous games, and as a listener its only 4 extra songs to listen to so probably not that big a deal, but maybe for those finalists having to select 5 songs to submit it might feel like too much, so it probably depends more how those who will have to pick feel about it.

I'd lean towards three myself, but no strong preference. If it's five I think the categories need to be quite broad, I wouldn't have time for finding that many new songs

Unless you wanted to announce the Final categories at the same time as the Semi Final category, then the potential finalists could have their 5-song line-ups ready to go, to save time

Yeah that is possible. I could announce them tonight and hopefully the nominations could be ready to post on Thursday and that would give the listeners more time to decide their favourite. Winner to be announced on Friday night.
