Paul McCartney & Wings - Live and Let Die - This was a tough one. Even though I voted consistently for Goldfinger and was inconsistent with my voting for Live and Let Die, I think the latter just shades it over Goldfinger.

The second semi is a 50-50, Live and Let Die is a great song.
But I think Adele has gone a couple of rounds too far.

There were a few entries that I was sorry to see go, but I like all four semi-finalists so I am happy enough, regardless of who gets through the final now.

That first one is real tough, I would have said Skyfall would be a contender for me before we started, and before I started paying attention to Chris Cornell, it was my favourite modern bond song 😆
Diamonds are forever is a classic, with some good 'feminist' *cough lyrics "Men are mere mortals who are not worth going to your grave for" 😅
On the day I'm going with the one I am more likely to search out to listen to at home...

The brass orchestral work in Goldfinger is epic, but I just don't feel it is as strong a tune, more consistent and coherent but slightly less impact.
I don't love the boppy bridge in the middle of Live and Let Die, however overall I feel it had a uniqueness and a impact that is worthy of a vote this time.

Paul McCartney & Wings - Live and Let Die gets my vote ; even though there's songs I prefer to it (most of which were knocked out by Live and Let Die in previous rounds), I always figured the tournament would likely end with it being crowned the winner and it's worthy of the crown to be fair...

Enjoyed the tournament more than I thought I would - never been a Bond fan, so don't have the same attachment to the songs as some might, but there have been some quality tracks used as Bond Themes...

While I ponder my vote I want to say thank you, Kol!
This had been really enjoyable, I think the format was fantastic with the group rounds.
I knew most of the songs on this list fairly well, which made it easier to vote.
It was less overwhelming than tournaments where a large number of the songs are new to me!

I was sorry to see Chris and Adele meet in the quarters.

Having had two last listens to both 😆 I've decided, by a nose, to go for:

It was the better of her two songs that came close, if we had an all Shirley final I would still have been voting for it.

Music aside my favourite bond film remains You Only Live Twice - It may not be the 'best' one, but I am, as I was when young, in awe of the volcanic lair! 😁

My vote goes to Paul McCartney and Wings' Live and Let Die, but both are worthy contenders. The dramatic song beats the more laid back style of Diamonds Are Forever. I would agree with much of what Rachel etc. and Air101 said, except the bit about Chris's song. I actually voted for other songs over these two at different points along the way. This just shows the quality of many of the Bond theme songs. There are a number that deserved to be in the final but you can only have two. Special mentions for the theme songs to Golldfinger, The Living Daylights and A Licence to Kill.
