The exhibition has been curated, thanks to our fabulous describers and artists. My minions are setting up the gallery as we speak, hanging the masterpieces, their descriptions and prices.
The exhibition opens at 8pm tomorrow night, for an exclusive FoGgie preview. Caterers will supply Chinese and ice creams.
For now, the masterpiece which inspired this exhibition
The fabulous Impressionist painting The Three Graces by Marie Bracquemond in 1880, oil on canvas, 139x89cm on loan to us from Musee d'Orsay in Paris.
Bracquemond was one of the great Impressionists. She was a contemporary of Gauguin who showed her some tricks of the trade. Unfortunately she was married to a jerk who was jealous of her talent and ultimately led to her giving up on painting. Douchebag.
Wow, that is... remarkable
Oh dear😬😬😬

I'm following you. 🥴😳😲
I was worried about describing umbrellas!! Not any more...the rest though..mmm not so much🤣🤣🤣
I look forward to seeing who is truly to blame for a large proportion of the 10 words I received; the ladies are not going to be impressed with their descriptions by the time they got to me 🤣

Erm. ....I think it's very similar to the description I got from you 😇😇😇😇
(May or may not be lying through my teeth 🤣)
IN MY DEFENSE.....
This is one of very few games where you can pinpoint exactly where it goes off the rails

I think that may lie with me and how I described the umbrellas

Neo? I think his paint might have had a geometrical slant. 😁
Tonight's line up...

I can't wait to see this☔☔☔
Won't make the reveal, just off to a pub quiz with some work people but look forward to seeing this after. I can understand how I got the description that I did.
I have no prep done, so I'll be revealing on the fly, some patience will be required (@
Leg End Reject I'm looking at you)
Was keeping chocolate biscuits for you all at the reveal, but they slightly melted in the heat of the last few days ..so to save you all from looking with disgust at them , they're going down nicely with a mug of coffee here.
You're all welcome 🤗😁
So kind of you @
Mam of 4
The caterers will be setting up soon, with Chinese of your choice, selection of ice creams, chocolate, biscuits and loads of popcorn.
You will need to supply your own beverages

I'll happily take the ice cream for my throat infection thanks to the Covid and the chocolate to make me feel better. (I hope it's Lindt extra creamy milk chocolate
)
Hope you've all got your gladrags on! Exhibition doors open momentarily!

A minute early too!
We kick off with the description of our inspirational piece by @
Homer J. Fong
He starts our exhibition in a classy manner
Quote:Just for you, nothing,
My description shall be in
Haiku-form; behold:
"Three young women wear
Victorian dresses. Trees.
Parasols. Blue sky. "
Our first artiste tonight is the Whovian @
aaronjennings who has visions of gaye Paris in mind
He explains
Quote: When I read that description, it sounded to me like it was describing something artsy, like a postcard you might pick up on the streets of Paris. So that is the sort of style I tried to emulate in my picture
Link 1 does us proud here at FoGgie Gallery, they stay on brief and give us a wonderful opening to tonight's show.
"Young women"
Excellent drawing... now if only mine so closely resembled the original 🤣🤣🤣
I fear something terrible is about to happen to those poor women!
We move on to @
Spears description of this beautiful rendition
Quote: Awh thats a lovely picture
Ok my brain is a bit on the slowside but i'll go with:
Three faceless elegant ladies, sunny park stroll, umbrella's as shades
Not slow by any means, she gives us another on point description.
I'm excited to see how long it stays on track 😊
Great picture and great description!
Our second artiste of the night, the ever modest @
DejaBoo is apologetic (though I cannot fathom why) as she produces this wonderful interpretation
Surprisingly, and maybe for the only time in MSPaint history, we actually get closer to our inspirational image!
Link 2 keep us on brief, our lovely French ladies are resplendent, enjoying their walk.
That's an amazing picture Deja... it's like mine, but actually good
I couldn't believe it last night, when I saw the starting picture and realised how accurate my PM actually was
@
Edser felt he couldn't do that work of fine art justice, but he tried
Quote:Here's my description:
3 ladies with parasols in forest. Dresses: white, red, mustard
It hardly does Deja's picture justice but was tricky enough..
He aptly describes all of the main elements.
