Hello and welcome to a brand new game of Mastermind Sheep, featuring the most ominous chair in all of quizdom

But who will be taking part, and what will the questions be?

That is for you to decide

To start with, I would like you to nominate a Specialist Subject, i.e. a topic which you would like me to base a Sheep question on

Please PM me your Specialist Subject, don't post it on the thread. And don't send me the exact question you want, as I will be choosing the question based on the Specialist Subject you have nominated Smile

Once I have about 15 Specialist Subjects, I will turn those topics into a game as Sheep, which will have the same rules as usual: most-popular answer for each question scores the highest points, research is allowed, all of that jazz

Anyone can take part in the final game of Sheep, you don't have to be one of the people to have nominated a Specialist Subject. The people who have nominated a Specialist Sunject will have the opportunity to score bonus points - however they will also face the risk of receiving a punishment... more on that later

But for now, we'll start on building up the Specialist Subjects, and we'll talk about the game of Sheep when I have the questions ready to go Smile

Edit: Ther Sheep questions are now live, please see below Smile

I'm in - wasn't quite sure which way to play it. Do you pick a category with loads of scope, which may have low sheep? Supposing the bonus is the size of your sheep?

Or do you pick something really obvious, where only idiots will deviate from a sheep? Like, say, Irish Olympians Tongue

(Not giving specialized subject though as I can hear AJs voice in my head as MM asking , Mo4 what is your chosen subject and me replying eh...winning wooden spoons?!)

I'm in,
Yeah, not sure if I should be going for an obscure subject that only I'll know anything about, or something more obvious where everyone can answer the same question as me.

Don't worry, normal Sheep rules will apply, so Google will be allowed... and if I were playing, very badly needed Smile

Love this idea. I went with my second choice specialist subject because my first choice was far too specialist.

We currently have 12 Specialist Subjects nominated

I will set a cut-off for subject nominations at 2pm on Saturday, or when we reach 15 nominations, whichever happens first

I'll then post the Sheep questions I have created based on your nominations Smile
In for the general sheep  Smile
With our 15 Specialist Subjects nominated, I can now reveal the questions for this game of Sheep:

1. A number-one best-selling single from 1982
2. A single by Boyzone
3. A song that appears in the first "Pitch Perfect" movie

4. A character from the video game "Final Fantasy VII", other than Cloud Strife
5. A video game released in 2021

6. A Sherlock Holmes novel
7. A non-human character from "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy"
8. A winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in the 21st century

9. A location in the TV series "Friends"
10. An actor/actress who appeared in the "Doctor Who" episode "The Day of the Doctor"
11. A character who appears in the "Downton Abbey" movie

12. The colour of a line on the London Underground
13. An animal or object in the nursery rhyme "Hey Diddle Diddle"
14. A type of wood found in Ireland
15. A winner of the "BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year" award

For ease of reading, I have grouped them into five categories: music, video games, literature, TV and general knowledge

Normal Sheep rules apply. Google IS allowed. Please PM me your list of answers, the most-popular answer for each question will score the most points, and the person with the most points at the end of the game is declared the winner

This game is open to everyone, not just those who submitted their Specialist Subject, however those who did nominate a subject will have the opportunity to score bonus points

If they correctly identify the Sheep in their Specialist Subject, they will earn 5 bonus points. However, if they fail to find the Sheep in their Specialist Subject, then they will score 0 for that question

I'll set a tentative closing date/reveal date for this Wednesday, but that is subject to change

Good luck Smile
Not a chance of me entering this without the help of Google.

Bit vague Tongue
Haha, I just ignored the best-selling part and wait for a number 1 song.
You would assume that being number 1 would be in the best selling list too, right?
I decided not to enter a specialist subject as I'm sure you'd have all been thrilled to get an Emmerdale question, but having seen the questions I'll get an entry in for this... (if I remember)

I would equate the two, but hey, it is Sheep, so there are no wrong answers Big Grin
answers sent. So much stuff I couldn't care less about! pac
In... Think I googled all bar 3!

I knew 5 but not sure if that's a good or bad thing. Big Grin
I've no problem with Googling answers for sheep, the problem is when the Google results still don't help me at all. For example, the list of all the video games released this year I found may as well have been written in hieroglyphics for all the sense it made to me.
12 entries in so far Smile

cee_jay
Homer J. Fong
Irish Aris
Leg End Reject
Necro
Neowise
nothing
quickbeam
Sawduck
ShaneU
Toto Wolfcastle
Zaph

Still waiting on some of our Specialist Subject nominators to submit their Sheep answers as well, and don't forget this game is open to everyone, not just our nominators

I'll close sign-ups at 7.30pm on Wednesday, with the reveal scheduled for 8pm, so still plenty of time Smile
I'll try get in when I get some time to Google pac
